Always felt this was USC vs ND with USC winning out. Hopefully I am wrong. I welcome being wrong. Please let me be wrong.

He absolutely is a NT. Just because he can effectively play other positions does not change that.

Just a little FYI, the coaches told him they want him at DE, Tuitt's position. They told him he's too good as a pass rusher to move to the middle. He wouldn't be a NT, at least not initially.

And Mario was garbage when he moved to LB in Wade's system last year.

Can't cover. As "quick" as everyone thought he was FOR AN END, was slow for a LBer.

This. I'd rather a player be a superb athlete at a position than a decent athlete at a different position.

I understand and accept that he is being recruited as a DE, or at the very least a Tuitt type role where he will likely move around. All I'm saying is his body type makes him more likely to excel as a DT than DE. I'm sure he'll do very well playing the Tuitt role, but I see him as a DT who can play outside more than a DE who can play inside.

Not good, unless he tells the coaches before hand. If we leave a place open and he goes elsewhere, we are screwed. On the other hand it wouldn't make any difference at USC or Alabama as they would just shaft some other kid out of his scholarship. "That pimple on your nose makes you medically unfit to play this caliber of football; don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out. Have a nice day."

If I'm not mistaken, he was leading the NFL in sacks (or close to it) when he got hurt. Even though it was pretty early in the season, I woudn't call that garbage. I thought it was a mistake to move him to OLB, but he did much better than I anticipated.

think it's been made pretty clear throughout that EV is the only guy left on our board that the staff will make room for. with that said i'm not worried about when he announces and and i don't think which ever staff is lucky enough to have his sig is going to worry about when he announces either

That supports my theory that Denbrock simply sorts our least athletic DL toward the middle.

....But he got absolutely gashed on runs outside and passes in the flats. The dude is a natural pass rusher. Put him at End or OLB and he's gonna get sacks.

But "leading the NFL in sacks" isnt all there is to playing OLB. Hell, he was gettting sacks at DE as well.

He was just miserable at all the other stuff. It was boardline hilarious watching him try and make an open field tackle.

I'm not arguing with the South's amount of hot women. But I think you guys are overestimating Alabama's play here.

I've been to every SEC school for at least a weekend for parties and football, also been to a couple of ACC and Big XII schools. Alabama is pedestrian compared to many others. They have hot girls, but it's a college... this is normal. Alabama is probably better than ND, but not the absurd "OMG ALL THESE GIRLS ARE SO HOT I AM ATTENDING THIS UNIVERSITY DESPITE ALL OTHER MITIGATING FACTORS." that you guys keep implying.

tl;dr Alabama is an average girl school in the south (if USC doesn't beat them then USC is really overrated), and I think kids that age honestly put more stock in the weather.

I was blown away by the quality at Auburn. Just curious, how would you rank SEC schools on that criteria?

Look, if a recruit is going to pick a school primarily based on the looks of the women populating the campus, they probably don't belong at ND in the first place.

It makes you wonder how big of a player Bama is with all of this speculation that he might not even visit there. I realize he is now, but it seems they would have to knock his socks off to get his LOI.

Keep in mind ND runs a 3-4...keep in mind Bama runs a 3-4.

Alabama primarily runs a 3-4. They also have a lot of 4-3 looks too.

We run a hybrid defense. 50% 3-4, 50% 4-3.

When Kelly said he tries to model our D like Alabama, he really means it!

I believe USC's new DC runs a 3-4

I've never paid for a site just to get rid of the ads.... this might be the first time that the benefits become listening to all the old talking heads...

Little button in the corner of any forum section. Trick is to find the appropriate forum area to start your thread. I can't help you with the peon part, everybody tells me I am a pis$ant.
