'13 AZ DB Priest Willis (UCLA Signed LOI)

I was under the same impression, but Mike Frank thinks we'd still take Willis in a "best available" sort of situation.

TP, if memory serves, said we were in good position with him relationship wise. It's been a while back, but maybe there is still a spark. I can't see FSU being attractive anymore. I'd be happy to have him.

I do remember seeing something of that nature of here but not sure where. My gut just tells me that until we know who is staying and going of 5th years and commits on the fence(mattingly) its all in on a few select guys and Willis not being one of them at this time.

So on twitter Devin Butler started a convo with him about fans tweeting at him and asked for a top 5. he released a top 7 and will cut it down to 3 (didn't clarify when). Notre Dame was listed first. Didn't say if it was in order.

Sapp reported that as well on the BGI board. It's not in order and sapp again said that he is a great talent that we'd take if he offered his pledge but from what he's heard we're not going after it. He seems to reiterate that its all redfield until something changes

I mean, I'm pretty sure we're not even recruiting him anymore.

Article talks about Nebraska, LSU, Virginia, and FSU... I'd expect USC to also get in the mix here sooner rather than later.

Had a great in-home with Bo Pelini and Ron Brown. Stepdad spoke glowingly about Nebraska and NU coaches. Article doesn't mention us at all. FSU, UVa, and LSU are the other schools mentioned.

Most interesting thing is that stepdad called him "Willis." Isn't that his last name?

i know we've cooled on him, but wouldn't it make sense to keep contact and maybe set up an official for that last weekend and see where we sit at the time?? yes we're likely to land max, folston, and aqm. that leaves us a possible spot for a fourth. doesn't priest fit the "best available" category that's been talked about on here?

I never said that you implied he was coming. I made a general statement about my thoughts on Priest. I wish he would come aboard but I think his commitment isn't in the cards.

Delayed decision date and Notre Dame is now 1 of 4 schools still in the running. Again this is from bleacher report but if true it does give more time to visit. I know it's very unlikely and ND is not actively persuing him (as of a couple weeks ago) but I can't help but feel that him waiting til after NC game gives ND a slightly higher chance of landing him.

The great thing with all these kids is that aside from the EE's, the month between the title game and NSD could bring all sorts of crazy twists and turns. We are already doing great but with the win the possibilities are endless!

Here is a rivals article on Priest. He is delaying his decision but this article has no mention of ND. He has one visit left and its going to be ASU, UCLA, or Georgia for that last visit. Not sure how we could be in the final four if we aren't even getting a visit.

McQuay depends on who you talk to he is playing his cards close to the chest. I believe it's USC or Vandy. Some think its FSU or USC. Michigan is confident also many thought Oregon lead two weeks ago. I know this doesn't answer your question but my best guess is USC
