IIRC, it took NDSP about a week to track down the accused player. They left voice mails for him and stopped by his dorm room during that period, but they obviously weren't very aggressive about getting a statement from him.

I don't want to revisit this, but I think it is at least worth thinking about the fact that it took police a week to track down a football player (with name in-hand) after a sexual assualt claim, whereas it took ND all of 5 hours after the deadspin story to go to bat for Teo over a fake girlfriend.

Of course, they have known about things since December, so maybe they had something prepared already and had to use it earlier than they thought, hence the speed of their defense. Also, the law is not involved yet in Teo's case, whereas things are complicated when it comes to University/police cases.

I believe that Teo got catfish'd, but again it is interesting to see the speed with which they defend Teo over a fake girlfriend, compared to how long it took to find a football player amidst a sexual assault claim.

I have a question (if this was asked and answered earlier I apologize), if Manti did not know that this was a hoax, and he only communicated with her via the internet, how did he know that she died?

They didn't "only communicate via the internet." They spoke on the phone apparently every night for long periods of time. Manti spoke to a fake brother, fake friends, etc all on the phone.

Are you some kind of an idiot?

Now really?

Let me answer your question: media involvement.

Search for your bullsh!t thread via the "search" button above.

Good luck. It's like google.

Hopefully the vasodilation effect of the NO2 supplement will supply more oxygen rich blood.

I haven't read all of the posts in this thread, but I have seen that many do not understand how Manti could have fell for something like this.

Most connections that individuals have are representative of the different things they have in common. A lot of times people will feel a "connection" with someone that they feel "understands" them. This is where Ronaiah Tuiasosopo comes into play. He was friends with Manti from the reports that I have read, which means they probably had a few conversations.

Did he know enough about Manti to help him feel comfortable with someone from the internet? Basically, I believe that this individual knew quite a bit about Manti, and used this information to his advantage. It really isn't that hard to believe that someone could be tricked in a situation like this if the individual on the other end knew enough information.

The guy who orchestrated it went to USC. Robert Woods tweeted to the fake account in the Summer of '12 in regards to "sick, what did you do today?", which to me involves knowledge of what was happening. The guy who pulled the prank has a family history at USC and its been floated around that a lot of people were not happy with Teos decision to go to ND instead of following the Samoan train to USC.
The guy who did this all met with another girl when "Lennay's sister" couldn't make the USC game in LA, there was pictures to prove it, and she was asked not to post the pictures.

Circumstantial, yes, but the trail is there.

I see he has been extradited to down under, nice work hit squad mods.

I once fell in love with a cam girl.

20 credits later, she broke my heart.

I was very, uh, comfortable with her.

All I got was a wink and an "offline" message.

Damn Russians.

You broke rule 1 in the Webcam Handbook. You are NEVER supposed to fall in love. At least not until the second experience.

I hate everything about this thread but I can't look away. This whole situation is like that car accident on the side of the road you know you shouldn't care about but for some reason can't stop staring at.

From what I understood. He met Ronaiah through Lennay.
