Dude knows where its at. (Except the older rap). If you like that Fleet Foxes, Decemberists, Wilco. And of course Eddie Vedder.

Yep. That was a quality list of music. YHF by Wilco is one of my favorite albums ever, and Jesus, etc. is my favorite song on it.

To bridge some gaps here:

This is a Jeff Tweedy (in Wilco) cover of Bob Dylan's "Simple Twist of Fate" it was originally made for the movie "I'm Not There" a biographic piece (of sorts) on Bob Dylan.

Albums I have been listening to lately:

The Heist(Macklemore)
Dreams and Nightmares(Meek Mill)
Trouble Man(TI)
Signed and Sealed in Blood(Dropkick Murphys)
Night Train(Jason Aldean)

Throw in some various rap, country, and Mumford and Sons. Weird taste in music here. Macklemore is by far my favorite, although The Heist to me was a little disappointing compared to what I was expecting.

If you don't mind, give me your top 10 recommendations in that space when you have time. Love me some Waylon, and yes, I agree with him to an extent. I think he'd be proud of Aldean and Church though. Especially Church.

Waylon Jr. is Shooter Jennings...and I know for a fact how he feels about Aldean and Chuch...and it ain't good! The whole "new outlaw" thing is nothing more than an attempt by the record labels to cash in on something from the past that was a real musical revolution against the labels. It's far too forced and formulaic to garner any attention from me. As a musician and songwriter...I, like most musicians, am a bit of a music snob!

Here are a few

Chris Knight
Bleu Edmondson
Sons of Bill
Hayes Carll
Justin Townes Earle
Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers
Old 97s
Drive By Truckers
Jason Isbell
Casey Donahew Band
Reckless Kelly
Mickey and the Motorcars
Radney Foster
Jackson Taylor and the Sinners
Jason Boland and the Stragglers
Wade Bowen
Randy Rogers Band
No Justice
Corb Lund
Jason Eady
Josh Abbot
Kyle Park
Turnpike Troubadours
Whiskey Myers
Stoney Larue
need more...just ask.

Give 95.9 FM The Ranch - 95.9 The Ranch KFWR - The Sound Of Texas a check...that's a good station out of Fort Worth.

Anybody heard the new Mumford & Sons album? I liked their first one, but have a feeling that they will be a band where most songs sound very similar.

Millions Now Living Will Never Die by Tortoise. The bass-heavy sound is pretty unique for the post-rock genre. It's a very nice album. Also a post-rock album that isn't inherently depressing is nice.

Don't forget that John Prine cowrote that tune but refused the writer's credit.

Goodman left too soon!!!

Damn straight.

I hope to take "The Train They Call The City of New Orleans" to the Jazz Fest in NOLA some day from Minneapolis via Chicago.

"Paradise" is among my favorite songs – one that I want played at my wake when the time comes.

I'm new to Irish Envy and I've been in too many bands to count! This is what I've listened to for the last year.

Kiss-Monster (its really loud, but I liked Sonic Boom more)
Gyote-Making Mirrors
Foxy Shazam-Welcome To The Church Of Rock N Roll (AMAZING!)
Van Halen-A Different Kind Of Truth (Sounds great)
The Cranberries-Roses (Glad to see them back, I was a fan of them in high school)
Rush-Clockwork Angels
LIT-A View From The Bottom
The Darkness-Hot Cakes

I listen to a wide variety of music, jazz, rock, pop, blues...lots of stuff.
