I do not think it had as much to do with what Brian Kelly wanted from ND but what he wanted for himself. I think the first interview was to see if the Eagles really had an interest in him and then he had to do some soul searching for what he really wanted in the future. I think in his heart that he now feels that he can feel he accomplished all that he ever wants by staying at ND and we will not have to go through this again in the near future.

There wasn't a big hold up. It was 3 days. The reaction of Notre Dame "fans" was as embarrassing as anything I've ever seen in sports. I hope the people that went off the deep end even though they were repeatedly told it was just a negotiation and there wasn't anything to worry about remember this the next time there is "bad news."

Kelly referred to players coming back instead of going to the NFL as 6-stars. Using that rationale, I would think someone like Diaco should have been a 7-star and along the same lines, Kelly should be an 8.

That said, maybe some of you realize that the NFL is a goal for most coaches, even when they have, what we believe to be, the best job in the world. Anything and everything can happen in this whacky world of sports.
