I don't see how we could take him, but it was confirmed in Tunnel Vision today that we are still talking to him (Wiltfong specifically declined to say that Ty was looking to get out of USC though).
We've moved away from other prospects after we got to the point where we couldn't take them. For instance, Tunnel Vision confirmed today that we are no longer after Priest Willis or L.J. Moore, because we don't have a spot for either now that we have Redfield. I don't understand why we would be keeping up contact with Ty unless we are still interested ... but I also don't see how we could take him in addition to our current commits. Taking him as a best-available athlete with the intent of making him an LB--the only position where we need him right now--seems like a waste of a GREAT receiver and ball-carrier. Tunnel Vision suggested that he'd be a great H-back? Sure, but we'd have to create that position for him; we don't currently use an H-back.
Puzzling situation.

athletes at the position, it's certainly worth considering.
