If he ever wants to think about having a career in the pros then he takes an offered interview for the same reason Diaco took college HC interviews...the experience. You have to learn what it is like so that when you are truly ready you nail what to say...how to act..how to go about the process

I want to thank BK for a hell of a season. However, even with the possibility of losing a stellar class, and maybe another rebuilding period, he should move on. Save all the talk about this is how it's done to get a raise, blah blah blah. He was going to get a raise and be taken very well care of. Now he has used our beloved ND, and I don't like. Sure I'm going to enjoy the seasons where will continue to flirt with NCs with him here, but there will always be a bitter feeling with me. What, every couple of years we have to go through this crap with BK?

Is he a ND guy or what? Is ND the best job "high school, college, and pro" or what? This was not necessary, in my opinion. I agree we was severely underpaid, but all he had to do was say "look at what we just did, and look at what we have coming", end of negotiation.

This is not a melt down, just an extreme disappointment.

Swarbrick should have already given the extension. ND and Kelly's agent could have quite easily ironed out a new extension during the 40 some days between end of season and NCG. Kelly is only doing what any other coaches do these days in college football. The game has changed. Time for everyone to get over their butt hurt and just hang tight and wait. If Kelly stays you guys will be as happy as a fat kid with a whole cake to him self. This thread is starting to sound like most of the fans before the season. Remember then? When we were going to be 7-6 or 8-5 at best. Kelly's head was going to be on the chopping block then, wasn't it? Now they go 12-1 and he's getting looks from the NFL and everyone is surprised? This is hilarious. Would love to see what you guys would have done if you coached winning college football teams for 20 plus years from D2 to Central Mich. to Cincy to ND and you had an opportunity to interview for an NFL job you wouldn't? Even if you had no intention to take the job? You would interview. You don't turn down interviews for NFL jobs unless you are a f*cking coaching legend. Get over yourselves.

Some of you guys have really active imaginations. Sure, that is possible.....along with about 1000 other scenarios. There is no info. No reason to start accusing people of misplaying the situation or acting "classless." It's the NFL and college football's most visible program in the mix here - what actually happened here will undoubtedly come to light. I wish we didn't need to jump to conclusions based only on how our own minds work instead of waiting for something to happen to react to it.

This comment stood out to me at the start of the article. If your serious about an NFL job, or they are serious about you, you don't leave the country. Hell usually you don't even leave town without the job. I know its been reported since that he's believed to still be in the country, but still doesn't make sense if there was mutual interest for him to leave just to return days later and talk again. There are other coaches in the interview line to. Why would there be plans set for him to return to Philly to talk this weekend with them still interviewing. Seems that wouldn't be set up until they were working on a contract.

Im surprised anyone is shocked that the nd fanbase would freak out with this news. We all know what he did to cinci. He has been a coach for 3 years and brought us to a ncs so most of us have looked past it. But after getting blown out and then this news comes out of course we are worried. Sure he may love his players , but in the end its probably a little premature to call him an "nd" guy like holtz, ara, rockne or leahy. We have no clue what he'll do, i sure hope he stays though.

I hope that isn't a bad sign. I mean why not talk to the recruits and let them know everything is fine. This is the most important and best class he has brought in. You would think if this in fact is all a bunch of rubbish these kids wouldn't be tweeting these types of things out.

In the country or out. By now, if you plan on staying, you get word out to recruits so there is no defection a month before signing day. IMO. If it is in fact a move to gain leverage for a new contract. If you plan on leaving then do nothing.
