I'm sure that this has been discussed but how does this affect recruiting???

We went 12-1, we have 6 true leaders enrolling next week, this is a class with almost unparalleled chemistry and camaraderie, and we have 1 open spot most likely.

So I am going to go with minimal.

Hopefully, the game will serve as motivation for the younger players. A lot of youth on this team - QB, DBs. This year could be a stepping stone to greater things in the future. Great season, tough last game.

Also, if you're embarassed by the outcome, then don't wear the ND gear. Sounds like something a scUM or U$C fan would say.

Just wish they would've mentioned that Saban can recruit so easily because there is no academic standard there. Anyone gets in. ANYONE. We gotta turn guys away every year. Too Bad. Great Year, when does spring practice start...........TOMMOROW

Glad we were here. Hopefully we still can real in the stud recruits and build off this season. Very embarrassed to see how the we played today, hopefully a learning experience.

Go Irish, and now on to Basketball Season and the Irish Ladies and Guys (guys beat Cincy today) and the ladies upset #1 Ucon.

Disappointed and need to get over it.

Go Irish!

Kudos to the players. They had a magical year, but heart can only take you so far. It's good to know how far we need to go to be able to play with the elite. They were far superior to us.

We need to hold onto this recruiting class, badly. Then, we need another 10+ win year and get another Top 5 class and maybe we'll be able to compete with the elite in 2015.

Lots of heart in this team, but way too many talent gaps.

Congrats on a great year guys. ND will improve and be back. I expect that this is just the beginning of a good run.

You're a good man, Bishop!

Thank you, Rocky. I try. I've enjoyed talking with you guys the last several weeks. A lot of good people here.

As for tonight, it's hard to explain. Are we 28 points better than ND? No. Was it our night? Sure. I wonder if too much emotion over the last several weeks didn't take it's toll on your guys. They may have burned out too early. Not much, but the best explanation I have.

Hats off to ND for an OUTSTANDING season and it was an honor to play you. It may not have been your night, but this is a solid team built for the long haul and you'll be in the hunt next season too, I believe.

I was so f*cking pissed on that blown call on the punt-fumble in the 1Q.

Getting waxed has an oddly calming effect though. Perspective on the season was that it was a total success and every single one of the 1 loss teams would've gotten trucked by that Alabama squad. Something about giving Saban that prep time is unbeatable. KSU would've gotten beat even worse, Florida wouldn't have scored a single point, and Oregon probably could've gotten to 21-28 but would've given up 50+.

Now we know where the bar is. If the offense plays better in 2013 maybe we can get there.

This is a learning experience for the players, the coaches, etc.

Need to get stronger, faster, more athletic, bigger physically.

We need better players. We had guys out there that were like boys when trying to tackle Lacy, or run downfield with their receivers. And I'm not just talking about underclassmen. There are some guys who can only be developed so far. Alabama starts with studs and develops them. That's what we need to do if we're going to win it all again.

I know its a defeatist attitude, but after that and the Eifert catch didn't go ND's way simultaneously I knew it wasn't our night. Still would like to see what would have happended if we would have had the ball at the Bama 25 down 7. But just the way it is. Congrats Bama

Am I the only one thinking that Golson has played pretty decent tonight? Given how one dimensional we were forced so early on, I am pretty pleased with his overall performance.

Heck of an arm. Strong and accurate, and he made a lot of perfect throws on the run. He didn't make many mistakes, especially for a freshman. He's going to be a good one for the next few years.

Although this is the only scenerio I had hoped wouldnt happen, I am still excited about the future of this program. It has been a blast following the 2012 team. Ready for spring ball!

Iron, we are really not young! Martin, Watt, Lombard, Cave and Golic are not young at all.

Theo and Wood not young

Toma, Smith, Jones, Goodman not young

Eifert not young

Nix, Kappy, Shembo, Kona not young

Teo, Carlo, Fox not young

Motta and Bennett not young

So, Tuitt/Day/Everett/DD/Farley/Russell are our young kids

So, we are really not young at all. Just look to be overrated

How many of those guys would be in the two deep at Bama?

Manti, Eifert, Tuitt, Nix, Martin.

That's it.

We've got to get better players. That's all there is to it.
