Geez, what an idiot that guy was to do that, and a complete embarrassment to the rest of our fans. Drunk and stupid is no way to go through life. I imagine he isn't having all that much fun in a Louisiana prison right now.

LoL probably not. I was joking, but you are right. That is embarrassing for a fan base. That was after the game too, wasn't it? Bet he didn't think he would do time over it.

Yes, shortly after the game. Too much alcohol for the victim and the perpetrator. That's no excuse though. I'm sure at the time he thought he was just having fun and showing off for his friends, but it was a totally stupid and ***hole thing to do under any circumstances. He hasn't gotten any sympathy from the rest of us. If he's spending his nights in a Louisiana jail cell holding his ankles, so be it. He asked for it. Probably not nearly as funny to him now as it was then, huh?

I've been on Tide Fans for about two months. It's a good site and has good people.

The only bad run in I have had with 'bama fans are on ESPN comment boards. If I am getting upset from those then I need to rethink my expectations.

Then again, I live in Ann Arbor, so I'm not running into 'bama fans every day.

What part of Bama you in! I lived there 27 years and the one thing I learned is Bama fans have an inferiority complex about Notre Dame

All fan bases have some obnoxious guys in the bunch.

Then consider Alabama is 60-7 won/loss over the last 5 years, 2 BCS championships in the last 3 years , number 1 rated recruiting classes almost every year and has a coach known for bringing home the crystal trophy.

I mean, that kind of success makes fans very confident in their team, why would an Alabama fan think their team would lose this game? You've been watching your team win almost every game the last 5 years.

Some fans take it to an obnoxious level and that turns me off too.

Living in the south as I do it strikes me as funny that now you guys on our site are getting the full monte of these kooks. Listen to the Finebuam show for sheer entertainment once in awhile. You will also get advertisements for your pond maintenance and any crane operation needs you may have. The women are making bandages for the boys as they come home from war and the men are pounding their chest on how Notre Dame will be made to look bad/embarassed. They say Notre Dame is finally going to get what it has deserved from the '60's. Dont even bother to talk to these folks- its a waste of time. Once again this game comes down to 2 ways of seeing the college game. College life and standards vs minor league pro football supported by a fan base that is stuck in cultural morays and concepts that are no more. Alabama has a great football team but for the good of college football it would be life giving for Notre Dame/Stanford/Northwestern/type program to shut this loud mouthed bully called the sec up. Every once in awhile a game is more than a game-this my friends is certainly one of those games. 'Go Irish' and carry the banner for what is left of COLLEGE football

Fear really creates hatred and anxiety. Can you imagine what they would feel if Notre Dame wins this game. All the talk, all the smack, goes down the drain like soft $#@% in a rainstorm.

Couldn't have said it better myself (& I live 40 minutes from Tuscaloosa which makes it ALL THE WORSE!)! What REALLY gets them is that their hero 'bear' bryant (I swear every dog/cat in my area is either named "Bear" or "Bryant"--LOL) went 0-4 against Notre Dame!! I like to always bring that up ;-)
