Symptoms
When a quadriceps tendon tears, there is often a tearing or popping sensation. Pain and swelling typically follow. Additional symptoms include:
•An indentation at the top of your kneecap where the tendon tore
•Bruising
•Tenderness
•Cramping
•Your kneecap may sag or droop because the tendon is torn
•You are unable to straighten your knee
•Difficulty walking due to the knee buckling or giving way
A quadriceps tear often occurs when there is a heavy load on the leg with the foot planted and the knee partially bent. Think of an awkward landing from a jump while playing basketball. The force of the landing is too much for the tendon and it tears
Rehabilitation. (Post Surgery) ...
The exact timeline for physical therapy and the type of exercises prescribed will be individualized to you. Your rehabilitation plan will be based on the type of tear you have, your surgical repair, your medical condition, and your needs.
Complete recovery takes at least 4 months. Most repairs are nearly healed in 6 months. Many patients have reported that they required 12 months before they reached all their goals.
That's a lot better than an ACL/MCL/Achilles.
I'm really not suggesting or advancing any agenda other than Torii's improving health, but at what point would we pull a scholarship offer? I know we've honored offers even after knee, foot, and concussion injuries, but does ND have a point at which they start to look in another direction? This isn't necessarily about Torii in particular, but when would we try to find academic or need based money for someone and pursue a healthier prospect? I can't think of a single time we've done so since I've followed ND, but I only started following the semester before I enrolled.
Only if he lied to ND about something. Pretty sure that's the only way he'd get his scholly pulled. I'm positive his scholarship will be honored as it should.
Sounds like its a broken femur per Farrell. Result of an unknown previous stress fracture. Apparently having a rod put in during surgery and will be in the hospital a few days
I actually hope that it is just this (and nothing torn). Players seem to recover much more quickly from broken bones.
