Im from East Los Angeles, CA (condom country) A buddy of mine is a huge sc fan and rumblings say Max is All Irish and is recruiting Eddie V. to join the Irish Mob. Come Friday we will land "The Carpenter" and if we don't get AQM on saturday. Look for Eddie V. to jump ship which is a road block in his decision. Eddie is seeing how shady lame Kiffin is and knows he is plan b now since they are going hard after Robinson...

Interesting that EV's decision would be affected by AQM's status. If true, must mean EV wants to play End rather than Nose.

Again, not necessarily. Everybody keeps forgetting the three areas that Kelly evaluates recruits in . . .

Remember just a couple of days ago, everybody said that if AQM comitted early, it was to ND?

If he indeed is planning on taking a few visits after announcing, that would suggest an ND verbal to me on Saturday. First off, he still needs to visit ND. But also, if there are lingering admissions concerns, the other visits would be due to the potential need for backup plans.

I hope so, could also be seen as him wanting to book a spot at Miami if he hasn't managed to get past ND admissions by Saturday. He could then take a visit to ND if he sorts things out and switch to ND if he loves the visit.

Scratching my head as to how Muhammad has anything to do with Vanderdoes. I feel better believing that this part of the "message" is garbled. I COULD imagine Vanderdoes regarding Kiffin's ardor for Robinson might have put him off for some reason. But this is also a "DT" situation I assume and not a "DE" one.

I'm going to think happy about this and imagine
a]. Redfield verbals to us;
b]. Redfield recruits Big Eddie;
c]. Diaco is deliriously happy to accept Eddie's verbal;
d]. Muhammad still has a spot with us if he gets his "situation" solved;
e]. When Vanderdoes shows up, he likes the idea of replacing Big Lou a lot;
f]. When Muhammad shows up, he likes the idea of replacing Stephon a lot;
g]. all that happens and we BCS in 2013, and win an NC in 2014 [not saying which number that one will be, just the first for Eddie and Muhammad playing bigtime minutes], and everybody gets to hold the trophy and brag about it to their grandkids.

I like this as well heard he told coaches he didn't want to play the nose.

Many have mentioned this early on in the cycle, but AQM at 230 still has a significant time before he's body ready to play DE. Our DE's, with the exception of Sheldon, are all 300+. Sheldon will be there by the 2013 season. While I'd prefer to see EV at NT, he's much closer to being body ready for both NT and DE (than AQM).

So wait are you saying AQM's decision is a deciding factor for what Vanderdoes will do?

It's all good

It's all good

We love everyone here. Glad to have you on board. Italics are for messing around and I certainly meant zero disrespect.
Thank you to everyone on this board and am glad to be back on this board. Did not take anything in the wrong way. I do understand what the italics are for so we are good. Just wanted to let everyone know where I am coming from.

That's what was written above. AQM has said (long ago) that he wants to be a DE, or so I thought. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me either, as I thought he was happy to start at LB and perhaps grow into DE. Not sure why EV would see this as a threat.

Per TV: barring a surprise, the staff is not expecting a committment to come from AQM Saturday. If he follows through with it he will most likely choose Miami. He could still take an OV this month which could still leave the door open.

Given the way things have been trending (rumor-wise with AQM's eligibility status), I would argue this IS a good thing, assuming you want to land his commitment. This just means more time to attempt to iron things out. That said, full court press on Hollins, Prevot, Vanderdoes.

If that's the case there must be something academically that can't be resolved in time.

My uneducated guess is EV wants to play DE because of the salaries of DE's in the NFL versus a DT or NT.

The way I phrased it might have sounded misleading, basically ND is not expecting him to commit to ND on Saturday. It said in the update that if he did surprise and pick ND on Saturday the staff would work with him towards making it an "official committment." He would be sort of conditionally committed, though they really all are anyways.

Not necessarily ... the news is that ND's staff isn't expecting him to verbal to ND, not that he isn't expected to verbal at all. According to AQM, he will still announce at the AA game.

Doesn't mean he won't verbal to Miami ... in fact that's what the BGI guys predict will happen. But it also doesn't mean he won't verbal to ND prior to getting cleared, Jamel James style. They also say that if AQM does verbal to ND, the staff will continue working on getting him cleared academically so that they can make the commitment official.

After reading TV, I am very confused as to what AQM is thinking. This recruitment has become very strange.

Interesting to say the least. Maybe in the past it would have been more disappointing but with names such as Vanderdoes, Hutchings, and Prevot, I can't be to upset......yet.

He's not going to be Irish, would happily eat crow on this one though. I once again cant stress it more than I have over and over again but AQM is NOT a 3-4 DE, he's a pure pass rusher who a 3-4 OLB or a 4-3 DE.

Don't believe me then listen to the coaches at the AAA this week as they've about him and saying he's the ideal 3-4 OLB.

I think most everyone here agrees that he is an OLB. I am not sure who you are debating with...

kind of feel like this kid got a raw deal by not being able to really start the recruiting process til after his season...taking visits and such. if he would have been able to take visits maybe this could have been avoided...maybe not idk

This has been my thinking all along. How can the guy actually make an informed decision based on the limited exposure to ND (and others)? For his own sake, I hope that he doesn't commit anywhere this weekend so he can be sure he's making the right decision.
