i'm not sure if i'd rather him official before or after sc...worked out good in max's case, but sc having a crack at him before us and before you know it he re-commits.

If we could get him to come on the 18th that would work out well for us. Rochell will be there, junior day is the 19th, and there is a possibility that others such as Hollins and Larue could be visiting then as well. Make for a nice visitor list.

I don't think it matters if USC gets the last crack. He did decommit which tells me he's leaning away from them. Then you add a visit to ND and the lean away form USC becomes even greater.

I agree. I think we put too much stock the order in which a player visits schools.

As it says in the USC recruiting thread Ed O is leaving USC. This may effect Eddie V's recruitment.

Not confirmed. A'Shawn Robinson claims that rival coaches are saying so, though.

Just another potential Christmas present yet to be unwrapped (the big O leaving). That would be a huge hole in an already sinking ship.

In this case I agree because the momentum seems to be moving away from SC. I do believe there are cases, though, where the sequence of visits makes a difference. Some of these young men are very impressionable, and having a crack at making the last impression can make a difference to some kids. This is also why some head coach in-homes are saved until very late in the process.

How about to Western Kentucky as DC for Bobby Petrino. Orgeron leaving Kiffin for Petrino would push WKU past USC for the most scumbag coaching staff in NCAA history.

If Ed O were to leave that would be a huge turn of events but I just dont see that happening right now.

In this case I don't think it hurts us. Each recruitment is different, but most of the time I would prefer the last visit be with us. It now looks like he visits us after USC which is even better.

Bottom line, just land the guy.

Almost plays MLB at times. Could you imagine that, a 300 pd inside linebacker?!?!?!?!?!?!!!

Coach Diaco from his BCS media day "We have one the best defensive lines in the country and we'll continue to have one of the best defensive lines in the country." Thats where you come in Eddie V. Carry on the tradition.

This would be a great addition to a nice class. If the kid can figure it out and choose ND for the right reasions, great. Otherwise, good luck.

I'd think almost any school in the SEC would be glad to have him as an assistant, maybe a DC. I'd also think it wouldn't be unreasonable for whoever USC hires as a DC to bring in his own guys.
Their bowl game's Monday? I'd think we'll know more by mid-week, yes?

Let Jaylon get in his ear and we should be in great shape.....Jaylon has a bright future in recruiting and coaching if football doesn't work out

Our middle linebacker my sophomore year of high school was 6'3" 330 lbs, and moved down to DT when he got to IU. His name was Mick Mentzer and was the other captain along with John Goodman on our semi-state team.

And he played linebacker? He was playing out of position to say the least lol

He was actually quick enough to play it effectively, and it was the position he had played all four years in high school. He just kept getting bigger and bigger throughout his time there, and luckily we were big enough on the DL that we could afford to play him there.

Jaylon sells him on the drive to campus. Eddie comes in and Bobby D while combing his hair says "Eddie, do you lift?" Eddie looks at BK and says, "Where do I sign?"
