Just read the 247 update. We are at least going to get a shot at this. Made a point to say he "needs" to schedule his ND visit. And he is willing to shuffle around his schedule to do so.

I listened to the Peristyle recruiting podcast a week ago (USC podcast) and the hosts sounded very positive about where their recruiting class even if they lose Eddie. They think there's lots of guys not yet committed that could join their class.

They'll get McQuay and Robinson. That's pretty huge, but losing Vanderdoes would hurt a lot.

Oh I think there class will still have a bunch a ballers, I guess I was talking from a mental edge perspective. Knowing that we or another school can go into USC's cookie jar and take what we or they want. Good stuff

Very interesting news. Vanderdoes is saying that all four are equal at this point. What makes this particularly interesting is that he has been to the other three schools but still ranks Notre Dame right up there with them. I think it is very likely that the OV seals the deal and he signs with us on NSD. If it shakes down like I expect, the 2013 class will be a true monster.

They've already had contact with him so what good is it going to do? This will be Jaylon's first getting to know him and Jaylon's like a mini-Alford in recruiting for ND.

While I see your point allgator I agree with kuenja's thought process. He knows what he is getting from the current USC recruits but not so much about nd's class. I guess he could meet them and not gel then ultimately be drawn to the USC commits but I don't see that happening. Not saying we are going to land this kid. Just think we can really do ourselves a favor at the all star game

"It was nothing SC did wrong,it was a very hard decision decommitting from the Trojans because I wanted to be a man of my word. But as other schools are coming in and the closer it got to signing day, I just don't feel that I'm 100% a Trojan and it would be wrong to me, SC, and other schools if I'm not all in. I just need to step back and re-evaluate the whole process from scratch. Alot of people do not understand why, but once your in this situation as a recruit you need to be 100% sure that's where you want to spend the next 4-5 yrs of your life and better yet, the next 60. As I have said, SC is most DEFINETLY not outta the picture. If they were I would not waste my time nor there time. I understand that this recruiting process is a business. There were still reasons that I committed to SC so when I go down and visit on the 18th I will get alot out of it and see what stands with everything.. Every school that I have visited or I'm going to visit, offers the same things SC does... Education,powerful program, family feel,great playing time situation,great staff, great scheme and etc.." on his decision. #USC still in it.

I don't think one game will decide things, but UW, and UCLA have not fared well in their bowls, if we get it done in South Beach that could really resonate with EV. I will be surprised if USC wins their bowl, they appear to be in complete disarray.

I think USC pounds GT. But GT is pretty lame and in their own state of disarray. Total mismatch in terms of both the OL and DL size.
