The kid will have to visit before we have something to get real excited about.

It will be nice not having to worry about him rushing the passer though.

You know what's better then stealing one USC commit...stealing two!

I don't care if he goes back to SC or somewhere else, but the fact ND is getting a real chance with him is great! He is not closing his eyes to what ND can offer and the AA game will either show he fits with the "Mob" or he doesn't. That is all we can ask for. I wonder if Max is in his ear too?
Love It!

No, I think UCLA is still in driver's seat (or co-driver's seat)... we'll need to make an awesome impression on his OV and have room (seems very unlikely) to even really break into the running.

We win the 'ship and anything is possible though.

Hopefully, the Irish will look exceptionally good against Bama and the beat-down that UCLA took last night at the hands of Baylor will help sway him towards the Irish!

Fortunately UW's product on the field pales in comparison to ND's. Oh, and we have a few damn good recruiters too.

Didn't end up mattering for Shaq Thompson, so you never know. Getting the guys to leave the left coast is obviously one of the biggest battles. But if the bowl season keeps playing out the way it has thus far, I'm right there with you brother in thinking that we will have all the on-field momentum on our side.

Vanderdoes
AQM
Redfield
Bryant
End Class

Please and Thank you

Gonna go ahead and bump my wish list from November. It's looking more and more likely. Bryant in the fold, Max and AQM seem like locks (hope it works out), all that's left is EV. Bring it home big fella!!

So pumped about the news of his de-commitment.

Was just talking to my FSU who is on Warchant and he was telling me FSU is hot on Vanderdoes and EV is supposedly planning a visit to Tally. Does anyone have any insight on this? This is the first time I have heard anything like this about FSU.

They'll get McQuay and Robinson. That's pretty huge, but losing Vanderdoes would hurt a lot.

I am completely unconvinced that they're getting Robinson. I don't think that one is even close to a lock even if they do "lead" right now.

McQuay seems very probable because the competition is Michigan and Vandy and he was never in love with either school.

so it sounds to me that he's visiting sc on january 18th according to the twitter interview...that opens things up for the weekend of the 11th, 25th, and the 1st?? doesn't seem like sc is going to get the last crack, but i could be wrong.

has he taken any other visits yet??

Our product on the field wasn't great when recruiting Shaq.

Same things that have been said in the other updates. Didn't want to go to the AA game without publicly announcing his decommitment. The way his father sees it you are either 100% commited or your not and at this point Eddie can't say that he is 100% sure about his decision. The article makes it sound like he is scheduled to visit on Jan. 12th which is the weekend before his USC visit. Orgeron is still a very big reason that Eddie could end up at USC he just needs to make sure. We obviously have to do some work here but a good visit and greeting from the Irish Mob could go along way.

Bottom line is the same as it was before this decommittment announcement. If Eddie V takes an offical to Notre Dame then ND has a chance. If doesn't not they don't. Nothing has really changed with this decommittment. Until I know for sure that he is visiting Notre Dame I'm not getting excited.

Considering that as of Monday nobody besides the USC staff knew about this, its quite a big shift in his recruitment. Also if you read the articles his father speaks to how hard it was for Eddie to tell the USC staff he was decommitting. I don't think a kid would go through that unless he seriously wanted to look at other options. I think making the decommittment public now means we get the official visit. His dad said that they are visiting ND.

Thats correct. Jan. 11th is a friday when I imagine he flies in. The article says Jan.12th because thats probably when the official visit festivities truly start.

Students don't start coming back till that Sunday. Gotta imagine campus is gonna be a bit dead if he visits on the 12th

Maybe we should get every college student on the board rather they attend ND or not go there that weekend and pretend to be students. Just to liven things up a little bit more.

More effective approach would be to bus in a few dozen coeds from IU to "entertain" him.

His rivals page shows an official set up for jan 11th

Eddie Vanderdoes - Yahoo! Sports

24-7 has him set up for Jan 26th, which would be his LAST. Any insight on what is real yet?

"Notre Dame has got its California pipeline as wide as ever with a great chance at landing Top100 safety Max Redfield and a final shot at five-star DT Eddie Vanderdoes with a Jan. 26 official visit planned. The east coast remains friendly as well with Alquadin Muhammad out of New Jersey power Don Bosco leaning towards the Irish."

Let me settle this once and for all. From the 247 interview last night:

"I'm still going to visit USC and it will be the last trip I take," he said. "Right now I'm scheduled to visit on Jan. 18 but I also need to schedule my Notre Dame visit. I may have to move things around to make everything work."

He will visit SC last and rearrange other plans to do so.

Mentioned the 11th as a possible date, but ND visit could be the 18th with his USC visit being the following weekend.
