If one accepts that Pat Ryan's OPI call was a bad one, then we got robbed of the game-winning TD. So the fact that "FSU won..." isn't really dispositive of anything. Especially when you look at the stats, which show that we whipped FSU in most aspects of the game.

Then toss in the fact that FSU wouldn't even be competitive this year if the school's admin, Dumbo Fischer, and the Tallahassee PD weren't actively undermining the justice system in order to protect several key Criminoles, and yeah, I could see ND getting in over FSU.

If the goal of the committee is to put the best 4 teams on a neutral field, you can make the argument that we deserve to be in ahead of FSU.

Clearly their resume is better on its face but you certainly can't argue we are the inferior team.

I love that he's in on ND, but that's just dumb. I'd be irrate if the script was flipped. I hope the committee sees it the same way as him, but at the end of the day, FSU won the game. IMO it shouldn't have been called and it was a game winning TD, but you can't put ND ahead of FSU. The W/L matter.

I'm not predicting that ND will get in ahead of FSU, or arguing that we should. But I do think there are credible arguments in support of that position; and that's apparently where we disagree.

I think this is the key........ there is a credible argument to be made. But it sure would help if Florida State ended the season with a loss.

Whiskey, I love your position but W's and L's head to head always matter unless your Hot Tub Time Machine is set to 1993. No italics, I think, maybe.

My biggest fear is still in play, an 11-1 Irish team misses the playoffs, wins a bowl game and then FSU vacates the win and the Irish read as a 13-0 team that was #5 in the final poll. I've already mocked up the t-shirt to hang on the wall next to my 1993 National Champions shirt.
