The 19th Amendment, guaranteeing women the right to vote, is formally adopted into the U.S. Constitution by proclamation of Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby. The amendment was the culmination of more than 70 years of struggle by woman suffragists. Its two sections read simply: "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex" and "Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation."

November 9, 1946. ND v. Army in the game of the century. With each team averaging over 30 points per game it was expected to be the greatest display of offensive power college football had ever seen. The game ended 0-0 after ND stuffed Doc "Mr Inside" Blanchard and Army held off the passing attack of Johnny Lujack. It was the only time a college football game has ever been played where four eventual heisman trophy winners would play against one another. Doc Blanchard, Glenn Davis, Johnny Lujack, and Leon Hart.

December 7th

1941 "The date which will live in infamy." But it doesn't get much mention anymore.

1963 Instant Replay - No not ESPN nor ABC. It was CBS for an Army Navy Game.

1972 Apollo 17 - The last trip to the moon. Half of all Americans weren't alive then.

I thought the director of Band of Brothers did an excellent job in the Battle of the Bulge episode

This is the one where Patton's 7th Army saved the airborne's bacon.

Not exactly.

3rd Army under Patton made the move north to Bastogne "to bring mail and hot food" to the 101st.

The 7th Army which had been commanded by Patton in Sicily was in the Alsace area and they covered the area Patton vacated when 3rd Army drove on Bastogne.
