Luke was the player for whom Cassidy pushed the hardest for a big ratings bump. "Pure athleticism"; capable of making plays from anywhere on the field.

I didn't interpret it quite that way. He's not an undersized player.

I think Cassidy's point was that some guys are just pure football players who find a way to make a difference, and the rankings don't reflect that quality enough because they are too focused on "measurables and body types". Cassidy pushed for a bump for Luke because he is that kind of difference-maker, and his ranking should reflect that, regardless of size, speed, build, etc.

Just my 2 cents.

Rivals article also had some good things to say about him. Called him the best player in Arizona on the best team in Arizona. Said he makes plays on defense, special teams, and offense.

What is exciting to me is that Coach D (the former ISD guru who moved on to coach professionally this year) came back to chime in on Luke, and absolutely LOVES him as a player. States Luke was his favorite CB prospect ND went after this year (above Mac), and thinks he has 5, top 50 type upside. Specifically loves his feet, speed and ball skills. With refinement, he believes Luke could be an elite player for us.

P.S. Keep in mind that it was Coach D who was touting K. Russell and C. Brown as the steals of last years cycle from the very beginning. This guy knows his stuff. He is also really high on Steve Elmer, McGlinchey, (thinks those two have the highest ceiling of any OL we have recruited in years) Greg Bryant and Torii Hunter this year - likens Torii specifically to Ryan Broyles.

Good stuff. Luke seems like one of those guys in the class who you don't really hear much about nationally (like Rochell too), but just seems like he is going to be a very good 3 year starter.
