Which IMO, is the most overrated quality in RBs. You can be great without it and it only adds to an RBs abilities if they have it on top of everything else.

Bazinga!!!!!

How many times does a running play turn into a foot race to the endzone? You get the right blocking against the right defense (CW against OU) and you can still do it without having top end speed.

I just dont see woods being a pro player or at least much of an impact player. Ive seen nothing that he has done this year be greatly impressive. Theo is a much better receiver out of the backfield and other than the two long runs, I havent seen Woods do anything that any other RB couldnt do. I mean seriously folks, he's running behind a top 5 OL in CFB today....thats not chopped liver.

I think whether he stays or goes that he wont be more than a 5th round or post draft player.
Who the hell is Woods? Cierre Wood has amazing lateral agility, great acceleration and is a big-play threat. Do you not remember his run against Michigan State?

Atkinson, McDaniel, Mahone, Carlisle, Bryant

They can't all play. We had enough trouble getting both Riddick and Wood enough carries this season, and even then some complained that GA3 wasn't seeing the ball enough.

Not sure if anyone saw posted this...it is a comparison of RBs out of Florida, including Bryant.

Short version is he has best hands of bunch (good for our system) but probably the slowest straight-line.

Debate about the running backs will be enough to hold this site over for the offseason alone (and that's not considering endless discussion on the BCS 'chip just won, signing day surprises, and QB debate).

I love the addition of Bryant because it makes the picture even more muddy.... in a great way.

You've got GAIII who could be a feature back if he improves in pass protection and reading the lanes; you've got Carlisle who should be healthy and motivated after a year off; you've got the Battering Cam, still the sickest full-speed stiff arm on the roster; You've got Mahone, who could either be Jonas Gray all over again depending on what his focus is on the weight room; and now you've got Bryant coming in, a guy who can be Theo 2.0 except with a bit more power.

Any of these guys can give BK the production he wants, provided they all get better in the areas that they need for one to step up to that no.1 position. And there's no doubt that someone is going to be a star with the way the coaching staff gets these guys to deliver.

My ultimate favorite would be not 2 rushers close to 1000 yards, but 3 rushers all over 500. Fresh legs on every carry baby!

Who's a player that some of you guys could compare to Bryant? I watch his highlights and he doesn't seem to have blow away speed but can break through tackles.

I thought the turning point was when people saw a pic of his muscles...all the guys turned into giddy little school girls.

I finally got around to closely watching his film.

This kid is incredible.

Normally when I watch high school RB film, they just bounce it outside and use their speed to out run slower DBs.

Greg is one of more mature running backs I've seen on film. He runs with patience, waits on blocks, and hits the holes. Very north and south.

Alford is gonna coach this kid up to be a good one!

From Eric Hanson chat:

Tom Lemming has seen the kids play and thinks he is the best player in this class AND is good enough to start next year. I need to see that myself, but I can't imagine he won't be in the rotation no matter who else is in it. Tom compared him to Julius Jones.

Pass Pro will be the hurdle for Bryant imo. If he can pick that up there is no reason he can't get on the field.
