To clarify, I'm projecting Florida-Louisville in Sugar and FSU-Northern Illinois in Orange. Oklahoma to Cotton

Also need my title edited to add an N.

And spell seriously right for me. SMDH.

I think Northern Illinois would make a better showing against FSU than Louisville would against Florida.

NIU is my #2 team...I can't see them being in the top 16 though...I see them missing the cut by 1.

Strength of Schedule was 120. How do they belong?

BCS picture is pretty clear. If Northern Illinois is in the Top 16 they get the berth...otherwise, Oklahoma will get it. I think Northern Illinois makes the Top 16 unfortunately.

It's funny how Georgia-Oklahoma in the Cotton will be better than any of the BCS Bowl games besides Bama-ND.

NIU is teetering on the 16/17 line... all comes down to voters... is Harris poll out yet?

Frankly, the only team that "deserves" in is Oklahoma... 10-2 with their losses to the #1 and #5 team. You can't make a case for Clemson, Nebraska, or Oregon State being more "deserving" than NIU, IMHO.

And what if Boise finishes in the Top 16 and in front of NIU?

Go Huskies! (NIU alum). Although would build on this years ND storyline if both OU and Stanford makes and wins BCS bowls. Living in NC state territory happy we landed former NIU coach Dan Doren as well.

I've watched several of NIU's games... they're going to compete. I'm not saying that they'll walk in and win the game, but I think we're acting a bit like those we hate on in the SEC by claiming they'll be demolished ahead of time.

Yeah, but their offense is great. Jordan Lynch is an outstanding player.

I do worry though, that it'll be a huge letdown for them because Doeren is gone, like it was for Cincy, or Hawaii maybe after their coaches left? I think it was Cincy who got demolished after BK left for here.

They're a good team. I'm happy for the kids, this is a chance of a lifetime. And remember everyone that hated on Boise sat and watched them shock OU.

I think we can all imagine a world where the wonderful student-athletes of Free Shoes University overlook the Huskies from DeKalb.

Word. I've watched NIU play a few times this year as well. Their QB, Jordan Lynch, is a stud. Threw for 3000 yards 24 tds and 5 ints, while also leading the country in rushing.
It'll be interesting to watch a defense as good as Florida State's try to contain him. I'm honestly not too upset by this matchup. I'll be watching

They're my #2 team, I don't miss them unless ND is on at the same time.

Lynch is pretty studly.

They lost to a very bad 4-8 Iowa team. Lets not forget that.

By 1. In the first game of the season. In a game that they controlled and should have won. They've dominated since then.
