Bama opened an 8 point favorite.
Before this season what would everyone say about this scenario? A certain team plays undefeated until week 6. In week six they play another undefeated team, in conference play. Team A gets blown out by 28 points, and everyone saw it was never close. But not to worry because they have a chance to win their conference and play in the NC.
Of course we all know this is Georgia, but my point is imagine this happening to any other team or in any other conference. People would be screaming foul that a team who got blown out during the season has a chance to play for the NC. THat part in my mind is just absurd.
Georgia has also played a GARBAGE schedule. Florida has played 5 top 12 teams going 4-1. Georgia has only played two ranked teams going 1-1. I honestly believe Florida is the second best team in the nation. No team with a loss as horrid as Georgia's and a schedule so utterly weak should be rewarded with a chance at a national championship it's mind boggling. If they were in any other conference they would be out of NC contention. Them being ahead of Oregon is a travesty. If Florida had any semblance of an offense, they would be ranked ahead of Georgia. Now, what happens if/when Georgia beats Bama is anyone's guess. Would they jump Florida in that situation? I guess it would depend on the style in which they beat Bama. Bottom line is Georgia is a more complete team than Florida at this time, they deserve to be ranked higher. Oregon was simply the victim of losing too late in the season.
Probably. There would be oceans of butthurt in Athens, Georgia if they lost and got squeezed out of a BCS bowl. But frankly I believe Florida is the second best team in the nation with their resume and they should go the Sugar Bowl ahead of Alabama/Georgia. The loser of the SECCG will be 1-2 against good teams...they shouldn't be rewarded with a Sugar Bowl bid.Question for those with good knowledge of BCS rules.
If Georgia wins, does Alabama get left out of a BCS game? I know that a conference can only have a certain number of teams make the games, but is it two or three? Sounds like if it is two it will be the winner of this game and Florida.

what time and channel is this game being played
Only 2 from any one conference can make the BCS, unless 2 non-champions from the same league are in the NCG. Not sure how that could ever happen.
