really breaks my heart so see everyone jumping over a member of The Family who poured his all into our football team, and honestly did a lot to shake the rust off of our program and get us back into the picture. (First bowl win in a long time, two BCS appearances, several top notch recruiting classes, etc.).

I guess you guys forgot about Weis's awesome press conferences.

He was always very sarcastic to the media.

Charlie Weis just said the most important thing for him is to lay low and not try to take credit for Notre Dame's success. Ok then.

Well said, Charlie. Thanks for Manti and the other upperclassmen who helped make 2012 possible.

Was asked about ND success. I think it just came out awkwardly RT @thedevilwolf: @DanWolken dear God. What was it in reference to?

I am sure it is Charlie just being sarcastic. But he did bring in some of the guys that got us here. We all know of the stories from the past couple years as the integration of the classes had some bumps as players had to buy in to CBK and his ways.

I personally thank Charlie for all he did here and the guys he left (versus what was left in the cupboard for him). Things did not work out, but he definitely left the place better than he found it.

Good Luck to CW trying to turn around Kansas.

CW comes across as a pompous ***, but there is no arguing that he (and his staff) recruited a lot of the key players on the current team. For that, Charlie, thank you.

I think it was meant as a joke too. It would be very much par for the course considering his press conferences at ND. No ill will toward Charlie, I think he did his best, and he did a good job bringing talent back to South Bend at least. I'm not sure all the talent was invested in the university as much as they were from a personal perspective, but there were some gems like Manti, Eifert, and others.
