After a great day yesterday, this is great news today. In fact, we should all chip in and help with a multi-year extension.

I think we need to enjoy it while it lasts: Kiffin is an absolute train wreck, and even a football factory like USC is going to have a point where they can no longer justify keeping him on the payroll.

Agreed. I'm absolutely SHOCKED that they are bringing him back. Not only is he not a great coach but he has terrible ethics and character. All of those things combined warrant an immediate firing. Many schools will tolerate a slimy coach as long as they are winning. If you're not even winning pull the plug.

I saw this last night and lol'd. I always respected Haden and I think he's going to do a tremendous job as AD at USC. That said, I'm baffled why he would bring him back. He's shown nothing on the coaching side. If Haden said he was keeping him as recruiting coordinator I'd understand, but Kiffin is a terrible coach.

Isn't it possible that Kiffin started this rumor so he could put Haden between a rock and a hard place if he does decide to fire him?

I'd hope doing that alone would be reason to fire him. Thus, I hope it's not the case.

It's possible, but not likely. The article says that Haden confirmed the rumor in a text message (presumably to a reporter?). Haden could well have just denied it, if it were something that Kiffin just made up.

I'd love to see his 2013 class fall apart.

I think Kiffin gets a bum wrap. He took over a program that was under huge NCAA sanctions. He's righted the ship and is still winning and recruiting at a high level.

Do you watch college football?

You should stick to giving Kelly QB advice.

I'm conflicted. Do I lol or do I insert a "Not sure if serious..." meme?

Of course he is, why would anyone think different?

Still working through sanctions...who would take the job?

That is exactly right. Haden is smart. Let Lane recruit a few great players, even though he cannot coach, and fire him next year when your job is even more appealing. Very smart of Haden to do this.

I'm really excited about the potential of getting to see another year of Kiffin's masterful antics
