General Petraeus Resigns As CIA Head

because he had an affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell. She wrote a book about Petraeus called, "All In". Was he bragging with that title, or was she. I don't think Hollywood could have scripted this better.

She was on the Daily Show in January 26 where she talks about being embedded (no pun) with Petraeus, his mentoring, his integrity, his tenacity, his aspirations for the presidency, oh yes and she mentions HER husband.

Check the clip it was funny then. The double entendres are more meaningful after today's resignation.

When Petraeus said in his resignation announcement that he had exercised bad judgement in the affair I though he was going to say, "that why Hillary and I were distracted during the Bengazi incident. We both had our cell phones off so our GPS wouldn't show up. Besides Hill said for crying out loud who wants to take a call at 3 am in the morning? Let Obama take it."


If WJC was still president, he wouldn't have accepted Petraeus's resignation, at least, not without an introduction first.

Crazy! I actually met Gen Petreaus a few times when he was at Ft. Campbell. Decent enough guy, just disappointed that he had to step down from the CIA. I actually thought he was a good hire for the job

Sad to see a long and brilliant career such as his end because of something like this. Hope he and his family can sort things out and perhaps return to serve again in the future.

The guy resigned, he owned the failure...he didn't hold anyone hostage for a job before he resigned...he didn't lie, and drag out an investigation...can you say the same for anyone on the hill?

The director of CIA is privy to some of the nations most sensitive secrets and operations. When he is compromised like this, it can lead to some potentially dangerous consequences. Throughout history nations have used beautiful women to conduct espionage for this reason exactly. It is good he admitted to it, imagine the potential blackmail opportunities if he was adamant about keeping it concealed. I understand the double standard you are referring to, but in my mind it is different, the same way I wouldn't want someone with financial issues in that spot. It is more of a security issue to me.

Mostly I was just wondering why the comparision? Who accepts less from politicians? The conversation is about the Director not Congress.

and yes, my number one hope for a Director would be that he had integrity, but if he were to commit an indiscretion, I'd hope he was smart enough not to be caught.

1. Lead by example from the front of the formation. Take your performance personally—if you are proud to be average, so too will be your troops.

It is not a personal attack against you. However sleeping around with other women while you're married is not a crime but it is wrong. When you get married thats supposed to be a speacial thing for a couple. But lets say your boss is sleeping around on his wife and gets caught he should be forced to resign?
