I agree. With Golic gone next season anyone think Lombard slides in to guard and Stanley takes over right tackle? This is assuming Martin comes back.

Huh? N. Martin would replace golic and Lombard stays if zm and watt return.

Who knows. It will depend on who looks like the better lineman in spring camp. IIRC, this spring the staff considered several different starting OL configurations, including:

RG -- Golic, RT -- Lombard
RG-- Lombard, RT -- Nichols,

knowing that Lombard was the best lineman of the three and where he played depended on who was better, Golic at guard or Nichols at tackle.

Next spring could go the same way: the staff could say, well, Lombard is our best option at both RG and RT; the only question is whether N. Martin is a better guard than Stanley is a tackle.

Does anyone have a link to the spreadsheet which breaks down our recruits by year and position and has different colours for starters and reserves?

So who is left on the board? This is what I've got:

Folston
Robinson
Treadwell
Muhammad
Redfield
Alexander
Willis

Any others?

i think the staff will now turn their attention to Redfield and securing Muhammad, while getting a surprise commitment from Robinson or Treadwell. I think we sit better with both Treadwell and Robinson then most people believe. I still think Mattingly decomittes in the end

I was literally going to write this exact same thing.

So do average minds ;).

What are you trying to say here

And RhodeIrish

I agree we are in good shape with Folston and he is going to take his time which is why i leave him off do we have room. That is where Mattingly may come in.

Can someone help me how do you make two comments on two different quotes in one post

Get the first comment you want to quote and click the "multi quote" button (it's the button to the right of quote) and then find the next comment and click the quote button for that and both should pop up for you to quote.

I think the staff would rather have Folston than Mattingly if AQM is on board. And if AQM is not on board, then you have room for Folston. The thing is, Mattingly has gone on visits and the staff has said that if you do that, your spot isn't secure. At this point, I'd be kinda surprised if Mattingly ends up in ND.

So who thinks we start to turn to 2014 now. What are our big needs for next year DT, NG, TE as i see it.

NG is the #1 priority, as is the DL as a whole. Other than that, just need to continue to build depth everywhere else.

Yeah, I think those are the only guys whose commitments we'd accept if they wanted to commit now. At last word there are other guys we stay in touch with but whom we'd presumably only take if we end up with room late in the process, like
Deon Hollins,
Juwaan Williams,
Khalfani Muhammad,
Victor Egu

ILB too, even with Anzalone. Depth issues there, with no one in the 2012 class at that position.

Here's the current depth chart. We need:

1 QB
0 RB/ Z WR
3 X/W WR
1 TE
3-4 OL
5 DL (pray to God the next Big Lou is out there somewhere)
2-3 ILB
1 CB
1 S
1 Specialist

So we'd need at least 18 new 2014 recruits to reach ideal depth across the board. I'd project 4 5Ys at this point, which would leave us 17 spots for 2014 recruits. We're in good shape, gentlemen.

I think if we don't get our top guys well take fifth years rather than those players listed. Just my opinion tho...

Do we take one QB every recruiting class from now on
