To quote Lou Holtz. The "experts" and college football fans across the nation aren't giving our Irish much of a chance. The only thing that matters is the faith and spirit of the Irish players, coaches, and fans. Irish Nation needs to believe we can take down the Sooners. We have the talent and the Irish will execute in Norman. ND will have to play a near flawless game but their is zero reason to doubt that this squad can do it. The sleeping giant under the dome is opening it's eye's under the golden dome, he's been asleep too long. He will wake up from hibernation on Saturday and when the Irish shock the world in Norman, the college football world will hear the echoes and the thunder. Time to BELIEVE again and "It all starts with the belief in the spirit of Notre Dame!" Go Irish Go

If ND shocks the world and beats the Sooners, everyone will just say wait til November and the USC game so we can see what we really have in this ND team.

Nah. I think there is no way we can't be declared legitimate if we beat OU. We will get repped hard.

At first it was wait until MSU. No way ND can win in East Lansing at night.

Then, well they're alright. Wait til Denard kills them at home.

Next it went to Miami is going to expose the Irish. They'll throw all over them.

Wait until the Stanford game. The Irish will get out played and out muscled.

Now it's well we don't know what we have in ND. At Oklahoma should show us.

ND and verdict being out is the College Football Story of the Year.

For you johnny....

From Coach Kelly: "This just didn't happen, you know. This is demanding, that mental and physical toughness. The pride and tradition of Notre Dame football will not be left to the weak, the timid or the non-committed. That's in our locker room. That was put up the first day I got here."

I'll be rooting for ND the rest of the way if you knock us out of the picture.

Appreciate that. I always root for Oklahoma and/or KSU in the Big 12. I love Stoops. Guy doesn't get enough credit for what he does in Norman, year in and year out. Everyone wants championships but to only lose 29 games after his first season and end of last season is amazing (12 seasons; 132 Ws-29 Ls). IMHO, Bill Synder is one of the greatest coaches college football has ever seen.

I know Oklahoma is a legit team, I've watched them play four different games this year (UTEP, KSU, Texas, and Texas Tech). They ran into a motivated and opportunistic KSU team back in September. That game could have gone either way.

The bad thing is if OU beats the Irish everyone will say see told ya so. If ND wins they will say well OU is down this year. K State beat them. OU is certainly a great team but only if they win. (In the minds of Irish haters) I think and hope it is going to be a great game.

Might as well go buy your #5 jersey right now and pull up a chair for the Heisman ceremony.

Hell, I'm hoping we end that campaign in about 48 hours! :) Buying a jersey might be a touch too much...

Can't wait to see Belldozer and Manti slap pads. If it doesn't look like the final fight scene in The Last Dragon, I'll be disappointed.

If we shock the world Saturday, haters can hate us all the way up to the SC game on Nov 24th. If the Irish win that game they can hate us even more in the National Championship game in Miami. It's surreal to think about it but the Irish are 2 games away. Who would've thunk it? Go Irish GO.

I was with you in a few of your other posts, but this statement is dangerous. The Irish cannot overlook Pitt, BC, or even Wake. I know this team is different than years past, but we cannot afford to take any teams lightly. It will only get tougher. Look at it this way, in those three games, we are their Bowl game. They will put everything on the line and could be dangerous. There are 5 games left. We cannot get complacent as fans either. If the fans come out in the stadium and yawn through Pitt or yawn through Wake, it won't do our team any good. Every game is huge. It starts Saturday. One game at a time.

I agree with this. I know it doesn't matter how we act, speculate, feel, etc... as fans. But, if we have that mindset, maybe it has crossed the team's mind also. 1993. BC. Enough said.

Exactly, every time we achieve a goal they move the goal posts on us. At the beginning of the season the pundits looked at our schedule and some called it the hardest in the nation and they didn't think there were anymore than 7 to 8 wins there for us. They said we couldn't beat MSU at night in East Lansing. They said we couldn't beat Michigan because Denard Robinson is too much for us. Then they said our secondary would get shredded by Stephen Morris and the Hurricanes. Then we'd get physically beat down by Stanford. Now it's Oklahoma, if we pass that test it will be USC.

If we pass that test they'll just say that all our opponents were frauds to begin with and we really should have beat them by more than we did. So I've given up waiting for respect from the media because it may come in bigger chunks but there's nothing we can do, at least this year, to get Alabama or Oregon level butt kissing from the media.

I was crushed by the '93 loss to BC as a 9 year old. It took my dad explaining to me about how college football (that rivals are rivals for a reason) works to help me get over it.

What I hate the most is that everyone acts like we lost to a bad BC team. That BC team was quite possibly the best team they ever had aside from Flutie's '84 team.

It will always be like this when ESPN runs college football and doesn't have ND's rights in their back pocket. Same reason why SEC is completely overrated aside from 2 to 3 teams a year.
