No word on when his visit will take place but I would assume it would be for the banquet like Yuri's and Shumates.

I believe our main competition is Rutgers (close to home, top 15 D) and Alabama (who wouldn't want to play on that D?). It'll be an interesting recruitment to follow, seeing as all three are undefeated and have made major statements this season. Rutgers could very well finish the season undefeated on the back of their superb defense, making it look like they don't miss Schiano and will be the class of the Big East for seasons to come. Alabama could very well run the table and become the first unanimous back-to-back national champions since 94-95 Nebraska (a team with a similarly dominating D). The worst we'll finish this season is 10-2 and in a BCS game. Kelly clearly has us on the right track to be a perrenial top-15 team for a while IMO.

Alquadin seems like a very intelligent, thoughtful young man. I believe he'll choose ND.

While Alabama offers him the best chance to win a championship and go to the pros, we are inching closer to matching their level of defensive play. There's a reason Alabama always has so many D players drafted in the first round; playing with and against great players make the others around them better. This incoming class of linebackers will be more highly rated than Alabama's unless some big things change before signing day. Notre Dame is also one of the few schools outside of the SEC that offers him the chance to play against and with such high quality players week in and week out & get SEC-level media exposure. If Muhammad's main focus is going to the pros, ND may be just as good of a pick as Alabama this year. I can't say I believe Notre Dame will be as consistent of a national championship contender as Bama (as long as Saban is there), but we're absolutely capable of putting together a special year or two. Picking Alabama over ND based on winning and making it to the big leagues isn't a no-brainer anymore (shout out to the coaching staff, who would've thought when Kelly and his staff were put together that it would be our D that would match up w/ some of the best in the country).

As for Rutgers, it offers him the ability to stay home close to friends and family. However, Notre Dame is not that far from NJ. He already has a familiar face in Shumate here. And at Notre Dame he'll be part of a team where the coaches and players seem to care for each other like a family. Te'o is a perfect example of how amazing a place ND is to attend college w the way that he's been embraced as our emotional and spiritual leader (despite his different faith) and the support that the University has shown him in his time of need (a whole student section full of lei's!). I think Muhammad will have no worries about being comfortable at ND.

ND offers him the best all-around college experience on and off the field. He can come and be part of one of the best young LB corps in the country and play behind a monster D-Line, he can get an education second to few (if any) in major college football, he can gain a whole new set of friends and family with this incoming class being the tightest knit and most outstanding group of young men I've seen in my time following ND football, he can play for a defensive coordinator who is not only great at X's and O's but also beloved by his players, and he'll have the opportunity to return Notre Dame to its place as a national power.

Sorry, this post turned into more of an applaud-fest for ND football than an actual post about Muhammad's recruitment. I'm just ecstatic with the way this season has been going, on and off the field. In the past our team never would have survived the distractions of off-season suspensions to our (formerly) starting QB and RB, QB switches, Manti's tragedy, the building hype, the schedule, the injuries to our secondary, the transfer of our best pass rusher in the offseason, the conference realignment, etc. But somehow Kelly has kept the team focused every week. Even if we lose to OU and USC and our BCS game (we absolutely will not lose to WF, Pitt or BC), I will still be extremely happy with the way this year has gone. We seem to have taken the irreversible step of being able to fight through adversity and believing we can take on anyone. It's a quality Lou Holtz coached teams had, and it's a quality I see in every player on this team. Kelly, his staff, and his players have turned a corner and we won't be turning back. I've been a Notre Dame football fan since 1993, and I've never been prouder or more excited for the future than right now. GO IRISH!

So to turn it back to Alquadin, for all the reasons listed above, he should chose Notre Dame and terrorize opposing backfields and O-lines for years to come.

I have nothing to back this up, but I think he is a ND silent commit. The Bosco coach does not allow any recruiting to interfere with the Bosco season. I think Alquadin has reserved his spot before it is gone.

I wish more posts would start with 'I have nothing to back this up'. Too often people post stuff like that with just as little knowledge as if they know something. Respect and reps.

i know bosco dosent allow kids to go on visits but do they also forbid them from committing anywhere sans a visist? Seems like a risky strategy for a school to follow considering how "early" the recruiting game is getting.

The kids do take visits to schools when they are not in mid-visit, especially to Rutgers. Without going on mid-season OVs though, it is hard to commit early on, as most prospects and coaching staffs prefer a prospect to at least visit the school before offering a commitment, which is why you see most Bosco players recruitments drag late.

Got a question...we started the Bosco pipeline last year and during Shumate and Yuri's recruitment we were already wishing for AQM. So with Shumate in 12, AQM in 13, who is standing out to be elite for Bosco in14?

Haha I think the talent in 2014 is a little dry there. But, Ironman would know better than I.

Yeah, I don't think there is a single '14 prospect who will be high on our list. DB players can pop up as prospects late due to the depth of the program sometimes, but with transfers out and the cyclical nature of programs, I think '14 will be a year devoid of major D1 prospects at DB.

A CB Peppers transfered out of Don Bosco this year I believe, and has legit interest in ND. He is one of the top 2014 DB's in the nation.
