BK: our ST are not losing games for us. We are really think on punt return. We are behind on ST dur to our depth.

Slaughter and Wood were big losses on coverage teams.

Q: Tommy?
A: You've got a guy with a lot of experience and knowledge. We are seeing a lot of leadership.

Q: Tony Jefferson?
A: You want to play safety at OU because they are free to play(stated earlier)

Rees did a really good job pre-snap against BYU

Kellys says opponents can't get a hat on Jefferson and often leave him unaccounted for in blocking schemes.

We are taking time off the clock to close football games. Saying that, we need to be better in the red zone and on 3rd down.

This game is going to be epic! I feel good about our chances but at the same time wouldn't be shocked if it went either way. I would love nothing more than a win here though. Oklahoma's WR's have improved through the year and the Penn St. transfer has surprised me as he has meshed well in their offense and as a PR man. I don't know much about their RB's but I'd imagine a Bob Stoops team has plenty of talent to work with back there. Jones is a pretty good QB but he seems to struggle in the red zone hence the Belldozer inside the 10. On defense they are improving as well but I believe we will be able to move the chains on the ground and am looking for a few chunk plays. When the opportunity for a big run happens need to finish because our red zone woes are much greater than Oklahoma's. Name eludes me but that #1 on their D, (is it Jefferson?), he is a guy to me that can change a game very fast. I'm not one for predictions but I feel this is ND's opportunity to shut everyone up, actually everyone will be swinging from the jock strap if they win and you won't get anyone to shut up! Myself included;)

I am more interested in being consistent in our passing game.

Year in, year out you know OU is gonna be part of the NC conversation.

I think the hallmark of great programs is that consistency. We wanna be able to bring that back.

We want to be consistent like OU - we are trending in that direction.

We're not worried about their record, we know how good they are.

Q: On OU's 73-4 home record?
A: that's where we want to be.

Q: on top 10 battle with OU?
A: this is why you coach at Notre Dame.

Q: OU matchup?
A: There's an excitement but there's also a realization that excitement only gets you so far.

Clearly we know how good OU is.

When the kids focus so much on their job, they don't focus on all the noise and the scoreboard.

We don't think about the big picture just the task at hand.

side note: Norman's 2,831 hotel rooms have been sold out since mid-July for this game.

This group really enjoys the process and their work. It's a fun group to be around.

This group enjoys being around each other and coming to work every day.

Once it's clear what it takes to win then the losing will stop. We are in the middle of that process right now.

Winners have high standards on and off the field. We have a lot of that around here right now.

Championship programs have a high bar for achievement. That's what we want here.

Q: about successful ND coaches won a NC in year 3? Have you thought about that?
A: Haven't really thought about it much. NC is a difficult thing to ask in this football world. But you do need to get going in year 3.

Three years is pushing it in today's society...There's not a lot of patience out there.

We're on schedule for everything that we need in our program to continue to win.

Q: position switches?
A: we wanna get away from that, where we have to move somebody because of need.

You have to be really able to project players in order to develop your program.

I'm really happy for the seniors and the success they are having.

Q: seniors are the last inherited class. How is it watching their development?
A: So proud of them. They're mature, confident, hard workers.

Q: on the seniors?
A: they have seen the tough times, pleasure to coach.

BK on Zach Martin: he's respected by everyone on the football team, not just the lineman.

We hope Martin comes back but if he doesn't we'll wish him the best.

Selfishly we hope Martin comes back. He's a tough kid and great competitor.

Q: elements that have built success?
A: Front 7, good against the run, and that allows us to build on that.

The defensive success starts with the front seven. They have been great with keeping teams off schedule.

on Kappy: I think the thing that stands out ore for me is he's been a consistent emotional leader for us.

Always brings energy to practice and games.

He has done so much as a football player since he's been here.

on Blake Bell: If it's 1st and goal from the 5 we're going to have a hard time keeping him out of the end zone.

Big and physical.

We have to figure out a way to disrupt Jones' timing in the pocket.

Need to put Jones in predictable passing situations.

OU does have the advantage over us in the QB category, but that's why we play the games on Saturday.

They hired two guys that were on the 1990 championship team. They both interviewed for the job and Enbree got it. So he hired Bienemy as his assistant. Both these guys were heavily supported by alumni to get the job. They wanted a "CU Guy". So while they do make chump-change, they put a lot of thought into the staff.

You were the one that brought up tradition, which as I pointed out, KSU has none. Furthermore, Bill Snyder's (while a fantastic coach) isn't known for competing for championships. This is really the best start his team has ever had. So call CU irrelevent if you want, but they are no more irrelevent than KSU has been over the last... well... forever.

In '98, if not for a couple fluke/crazy plays in the Big XII championship game, they would've gone undefeated into the national championship game against Tennessee...with a quite legitimate chance to beat them. Obviously didn't happen, but Snyder and K-State have been there.

Losing in a Big12 championship game with a title shot on the line is not "being there". If a loss in the championship game is their biggest accomplishment, that tells you everything that you need to know about their tradition.

It is pretty obvious to those of us that have been following Big 12 football, including Bill Snyder at KSU, for years that he has built a tradition of winning at KSU. He took possibly the worst team on the face of the planet and while he has been the head coach there has consistantly won. I am not certain any other coach can claim that, and to do it two times is rather impressive, Remember, he took over for Ron Prince who could not sustain winning there after Snyder retired the first time. He has won multiple division titles and has won the conference outright in the past and it looks like he may be doing that again this year. I am sorry if being in the running is not impressive to you, but to the vast majority of the teams across the country they would love to be mentioned as contending for a MNC. Behind coach Stoops i respect coach Snyder more than any other coach in the country. I know this will not change the way you think about KSU and for that I am sorry since you are obviously missing out on on something wonderful in the midwest. Now...back to OU vs ND...best regards Boomer Sooner.

These OU posters sure are multiplying fast. I thought we weren't supposed to get them wet or feed them past midnight?
