BK on B Jackson: this was s tep up for him. Pleased with him and russell

BK: Golson's alst 4 plays that he was in there were the best 4 plays. The learning curve is taking place series by series. I see the positive.

On trap game: Vets know how to practice.

Golson competed his butt off, and I couldn't be more prooud of the way he fought.

BK will have 3 qbs ready to go this weekend

on RBs: need to find a way to get GAIII more carries.

Overtime: Getting on our side was important. Unless the wind is a factor, I would chose the wind over hime field advantage.

Rees is a guy who you can bring in cold and play the way he plays. Not everyone can do that. (I really do like how Rees has excepted his role and on top of that has thrived with it...big advantage having an experienced QB waiting in the wings)

BYU is a good football team and our kids see that on film

BYUs edge players are outstanding. Van Noy is a great player, not as long as Stanfords edge players, but better in space (Niklas better get better by Saturday regardless)

BYU has big guys on defense that are physcial and play hard and play for 4 quarters.

Dan Fox is very physical and his knowledge of the position has made him play better this year. Pass coverage is better as well.

On secondary avoiding penalties: We go one on one everdy day. We talk to them about how they play constantly.

I'm a different game manageer with the defense we have. You start thinking about long fields for our defense.

Golson could practice on Thursday and be ready on Saturday.

Golson's throw to TJ in the fourth quarter was a result of him staying on the pcket and getting it done with someone in his face.

GAIII recruited as a WR..surprised?: yeah, we've seen great improvement. He's making plays with his hands.

He is putting his foot down and getting north and south- something he didn't do earlier in the year.

The team knows what I want from them on game day.

We are going to make sure BYU has to defend a running QB

Every game is a trap game if you take a breather - we're screwing things down tighter than we ever have this week.

The RBs need to continue to improve on the inside/outside zone and running north and south

Rees is as good as any quarterback i've had from a mental standpoint and he's as skilled as any as well.

Program is moving in right direction and I don't have to yell as much because they know the expectations.

Manti and Van Noy are very similar players.

Recruiting: the charge to the staff is to dig and get those guys. They are out there, you just have to go get them.

KLM: evolved as much as any one player over 3 years.

In addition to what Panda stated about Manti as a leader from Kelly:

No one in my 22 years who is a better leader on and off the field. I don't think it's close.

That article is just a compilation of everything we read today. It doesn't say that Everett is cleared to play.

Kelly said Golson could still be ready to "help" the team Saturday if he does not practice Wednesday, although it was unclear whether that meant starting. Still, the third-year Irish coach is confident that Golson is close to a return.

I wonder if Kelly is just saying that so BYU has to prepare for two different quarterbacks. If Golson wasn't able to pass the cognitive test by Monday I would worry about jeopardizing the rest of the season for him. He is a small quarterback and is likely to get banged up further. Tough call w/ Oklahoma around the corner.
