Good stuff to hear but I'll wait until the "New Car Showroom" effect wears off. Still, promising.

^ I agree with that assessment

Tier 1:
Alexander
Willis
Redfield

Tier 2:
Moore
Luke
Hawkins

Yup.

Folston or Moore better speak up.

Folston also.

And then there's the anal zone issue.

well, Folston has no need to worry unless the staff only wants 3 more spots and is saving one for A. Muhammad, but Moore is in serious jeopardy if all of this is true. No way we take 3 more DBs...

Basically, Johnny's right. Top 100 player, top 10 corner. If he wants in now, he gets in. He is lower rated than all but L.J., but I don't think that matters. With all 6 of the remaining DB targets, we are on a first come, first served basis.

One point though: Hawkins, Alexander, and Cole Luke are pure CBs. Willis, Redfield and Moore are all CB/safety hybrids. So if we get Hawkins, I think it becomes less likely that we take Mack or Luke, but not necessarily less likely that we take Redfield, Willis or Moore.

keep in mind tho that redfield is all safety. LJ and priest are combos. And hawkins and cole are strictly cb's

Redfield will play early.

He's a hoss. A game changer IMO and the message it sends poaching SC commits is huge.

2 helping to create that stelar class they have coming in...

lol because it is just my opinion, based on my viewing his film. Take with a grain of salt; I am no Kerry Cooks. But I do think that Redfield is built a lot like Blanton or Gary Gray and would fit the big corner mold that we like.

Here's my question, how of the cb's and safeties to we take. Is it one pure corner and a combo? Is it the first two on board?

I agree. Redfield is my favorite Safety recruit. Kid is huge, hits like a truck and is really fast. I am really hoping we can lure him away from SC.

Definitely 1 CB and a S would fall under 'best available'. I started a discussion in the "Who is Likely Next" thread and GB answered that question. Let's take this over there so we can keep Hawkins thread less cluttered.

WOW. ALLGATOR could be eating crow. Super exciting.

You kidding???

Surely it would all be part of the devious scheme hatched by Lane Kiffin. Get them to commit, then get them to sign an LOI in February (to really convince ND that they are interested), have them play for a couple of years (some Special Teams, maybe in the two-deep, maybe even a starting role by year 2), and then - when the sanctions are over in LA - they will transfer back to USC and be able to successfully petition the NCAA to waive the 1 year wait, due to the fact that they don't like the rein/reign (SIC for dshans) in South Bend.

...and the coup de grace: they would steal one of the Heisman trophies from the Gug as they are leaving, given that they had to give Reggie's back bringing USC down to only 6 (oops, they would need to steal 2, as Manti will be adding one this year :)).

Presuming they would send someone to OSU to get one of the Buckeyes' Heisman trophies as well. Err, never mind, I think OSU players traded one of theirs for some 'tats' right??

:)

This would be incredible. Only thing that would worry me would be him flopping back to USC late in the cycle.......... but man, he's a great prospect.

Redfield is even better.... albeit at a different position.

Well that's fair enough, we still don't know what's going on and shouldn't get over-excited. Chris could easily reaffirm to Kiffy on Wednesday.

lol Hawkins was every bit as blown away by the visit as Redfield. Dad hinted that Hawkins is considering decommitting and they are in a cool-off period till Wednesday.

I just am not allowing myself to believe this is going to happen. It would be huge to steal recruits from USC. HUGE.

Colin Cowherd would probably go on air and slam us for stealing other teams recruit but man would it be sweet.
