247 has an article up on him, and by the way Stanford just picked up another 4 star ILB, with Isaac that makes 3

not moving on-if that was the case nobody would be married and we'd settle for the ugly gal down the street (insert jokes here). really, how many times did you get the cold shoulder before she found out how great u are, eh? if the staff wants him, then go and get them. if they don't commit, then at least the effort was there and they gave it their all. chase down the difference makers!

That was the weirdest update ever. Has to have something to do with the fact the person he spoke with was the A&M 247 guy, right?

Very weird update. And I was thinking he same about the fact that he was speaking with a Texas A&M writer. I think really he just wants to get home and process everything, but sounds like he was impressed but not blown away.

Projected LBs with their 247Composite.

DOG- Jaylon Smith (.9980)
WILL- Isaac Savaiinaea (.9529)
MIKE- Alex Anzalone (.9702)
CAT- Alquadin Muhammad (.9483)

HOLY SH!T.

To say nothing of four-star Doug Randolph and Michael Deeb. I'd assume Mattingly would move to tight end, right?

Classic example of weather having an impact... said it was his only negative. How could cold and rainy not be a negative?

I think this one comes down to room remaining and decommits. I expect him to probably stay on the west coast when all is said and done. I think Texas A&M is about to implode.

I have my doubts about a kid who consciously considers the weather a negative. I can understand it having a subliminal effect, but just seems a little soft for a kid to actually have the thought "I don't want to play in the rain, and it rains here. I don't think I want to come here." I'm watching that game in the rain and the slop, thinking about how much freaking fun it looked like.

I'll much rather have him at UCLA or A&M than Stanford... He is the beast.

It looked like the absolute epic blast. Amen.

Well, that's not exactly what he said. He was asked positives and negatives and he said the only negative he could think of was the weather but he knows when you play on Sundays you have to deal with that anyways.

So he was prompted, and he said it wasn't a big deal. My point was just that subconsciously there is almost no way where your overall experience is better in soaking rain with the temperature in the high 50s than it would be 75 and partly cloudy. Especially when your status quo is Hawai'i... that can make it a big adjustment and a little more uncomfortable vs. southern California.

If you're the kind of kid who is legitimately turned off by a rainy day (which it doesn't seem like I. Sav. was) then I totally agree with you... it shows that you are both short-sighted and soft. I don't want those kids.

Yeah I read the update and I get your point. I'm just giving my take on it. I look at it more in terms of what that says about him than cursing the weather. Sometimes it rains. That's life, especially in South Bend. It's not for everybody, right?

It was raining cats and dogs the day I visited Boston College as a high school senior. Being cold and wet and miserable definitely impacted my thoughts of the school. Was I going to choose BC over ND? Probably not. But the rain definitely didn't help. It was nice and sunny the day I visited ND...people playing frisbee on the quad...Made me feel more at home

So was the weather the biggest negative about BC compared to ND? I trust that there was more to your decision than that. Like I said, I totally understand how it can be a subliminal influence, but that's different than it being the biggest negative factor.

I wouldn't think the rain would affect his overall decision that much. It rains in Los Angeles through football season as well. We had rain last week, and it was in the 50's for several days. This week we're looking at 100 degrees again. I went to the USC game at the coliseum in 2010. The rain came down pretty good in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, enough for several thousand Trojan fans to retreat to the walkways under the seats to watch the game on the TV's. Bunch of sissy's out here...

Last years version of ND v Stanford was far more sloppy. Field conditions were perhaps the worst I've ever witnessed but I don't recall if it was raining throughout the game. Maybe it was a warm rain. My point is, you can and will have that weather anywhere.

Tim Tebow did not come here because it was "too cold". Thank God.

That kid was one of the best college football players of all time, and seemed to have a multiplier effect on his teammates. I would have loved to have had Tebow.
