Did Chris Martin visit other schools and say they lead, wear their stuff, and talk to that schools recruits about seeing them again?

All I remember about Martin is that he verbally committed the same day as Manti and I thought we were gonna win the next 4 NC's! I'm pretty sure my Beano Cookedness was wrong.

This is pure gossip but I thought it was interesting enough to share ... a poster on 247 claims that his son went to an under 21 dance club in NJ and a kid came up and asked the son about his ND shirt. The kid turned out to be Clement, according to the son and his friends, and Clement claimed that he is going to ND ...

The latest from Sapp, however, is that we still won't accept Clement's commitment until we know what Folston is doing, so I don't know.

I actually hope that he does come here! Tough kid and he is kind of cocky but I think it's more confidence. I just think he is a stud and don't want to miss out on him.

I love gossip. i noticed him outside the bookstore hanging with some other recruits for Michigan, unless that wasn't him. He was visiting that weekend right?

at least from that story he doesn't seem upset about playing second fiddle to folston. So if we lose out on a "bigger" fish then it sounds like we have a nice backup waiting in the wings to join in clement.

It's funny to compare this to the Anzalone situation. I was all up in arms last night over the idea that Anzalone may have given a silent to Florida while he remained committed to us. Lol, if this story is true Clement is almost a silent to us while committed to Pitt, right?

(Not quite, I know, the difference being that right now we can't accept Clement's commitment, while presumably Florida will accept Anzalone's, but you see what I'm saying. In recruiting you win some and lose some, what goes around comes around, etc.)

If you have to accept the crap of defections, you also should be free to enjoy those kids who jump aboard. That said, its a pretty crappy system and an abuse of the language.

Bottom line- it's a two-way street. Learn to accept the good with the bad and vice versa.

Clement got a rankings boost and he is now in 247's Top 100. Higher-ranked than Folston.

He's been having a monstrous senior season, well deserved. My take on the folston vs. clement is that I think the staff likes folston's versatility more. We have james who is a true running back and I think thats how they view clement. JMO, but if you asked the staff I think they would say they'd like clement and folston together.

If we didn't already have James, we would've taken him. As things sound now the reason why we'd take Folston is because of his versatility.

If we were Alabama, we'd just take all of the RBs and then cut whoever we feel like. But we're not Alabama.

I understand how all of this works. But this kid is special and he loves ND from what I can tell. I just hate to pass on someone like that.

Clement vs. Folston

TOTALLY close enough that you can take the better fit for your system.

Both are great players of course; would love to have either.

Clement reminds me of jonas, compact and strong with quick feet and breakaway speed.

Clement and Mahone have a power aspect to there game but they are more of well rounded old school every down type of RB whereas the someone like Wood is more of the more modern specialized RB that have more finesse.

Now James on the other hand IMO is very much that of a true out and out power back.

I've been a fan of CC from the get go and if they do take another RB in this class which isn't a given I want him over the other 2 that ND's still recruiting.

Judging by his interviews he only has interest in being a feature back so that sounds like a moot point.
Just get him on board and see where the chips fall later.

Dude I have been on this kid since I first saw his film in the summer. He was a 3* on 247 at that time and I wanted him badly. now he is number 70 something overall on 247, sing him up please.
