Does anyone know the exact sections the away team usually sits in?

Thanks

I have seen visiting fans in the upper sections of the endzone before.

Usually the top sections opposite the student section I believe.

This. Opposing teams are always directly across from the student section in the opposite corner. Of course there will always be smatterings of opponents around the stadium due to ND fans selling their tickets. Someone mentioned sections 7-12 as being behind the visiting team bench, and they are directly behind the Away team, but most of these seats are still Irish fans, even in the gold seats. You will see families of opponents sit in the gold seats there on occasion though (Sat behind Jake Butt's parents for Michigan last year, typically there are Irish fans in those seats).

Be advised the allotted seat width is 17 inches/person.

Yeah, the lower bowl seats are packed in tight, but there seems to be more room in the expansion seats, especially if you have a corner seat where two benches meet. All that will change, of course, once the Crossroads project is complete.

Take this to heart.

Some years back I went to an ND - USC game. I was in the lower/original bowl, south end zone about row 25. I had trouble finding my assigned seat since the "cheek spread" of my two gentlemen "neighbors" obscured my seat number.

I estimated that they each weighed 350 or so pounds and without stadium seats or pads they spanned approximately 25 inches each. My skinny, 130 pound ass takes up no more than 15".

Good thing it was a sh¡tty game, it started to rain at the end of the second quarter and they both failed to return after the half.

ND won, by the way, so the squeeze and the rain were more than worth the eight hour night drive and the squeeze.

Go Irish – kick USC's sorry ass butts!
