I know. I just thought it was funny the first thing that popped up was a photo of Theo. Good read though.

Online journalism has lead to very sloppy work that could easily be avoided by double checking before hitting upload.

It was a mistake, but lets be real here. The SBT is a friend to Notre Dame, they actually have much better reporting than national media on our squad. They are the anti-Chi-Town Tribune.

Except for Al Lesar who its still hoping to see Gunner so his terrible season prediction comes true.

The article was probably a bit rushed, as most, if not all, of the information came from the press conference this evening.

They probably just couldn't find a picture of Cierre running the ball this year.

"Blazing Saddles" may be more fun to discuss and chat about than ND football. May be.

Bitte, baby.

Not adding anything new, I'm aware. But my uncle (die hard Miami fan, professor at law school, etc.) has been talking with me all week about how young and bad this defense is. Says I cannot comprehend how bad they are. At least 3 true freshmen (Earl Moore, Dequan Ivery, and one more) and couple more redshirt freshmen (corey king and another) will be starting. Olsen Pierre out, Curtis Porter out, etc. Only two decent players on defense are Eddie Johnson and Perryman. No pass rush on this team at all.

In sum, I seriously think we can take advantage of the D. All of this leading to my point that I think we get more in long run with Everett starting this game. Manti even said in his presser: can't play without confidence. Everett needs it, he has the physical attributes.

"I didn't get a hurumph outta that guy."

I know you wouldn't be upset about seeing Gunner but it means we probably had a ton of injuries and most likely lost a game we don't think we should have.

That's what everyone on here was saying about the thought of seeing Tommy this season barring injury.... just sayin...

Whoa whoa. Totally skipped page 17. Rumor debunked. Ok, well the defense is still bad...

I agree, but with Hendrix still not having taken any snaps outside of Navy (before Tommy was back) I just don't see us making it all the way down the roster and burning Gunner's redshirt.

If BK thinks not wasting Carlisle's year of eligibility after 5 weeks, do you really think he is going to burn Gunner's?

-On the flip side, I believe with da U's offensive production, we will continue to find out about how well the DBs have been progressing. I can see them playing well, but maybe not great.

I'm wondering why everyone thinks our DB's may not have a great showing,or may just have an average showing. The worst IMO that they've played was against Navy, where they were beat every once in awhile, but that was basically because of our scheming to stop the run. Since then, I can't recall them getting beat deep yet, nor have they been out of position yet. So to me they have been playing great, and Miami's offense isn't that great that I think we even need to think about being worried. The front 7 pressure being put on opposing offenses is not going to change this weekend, if anything the front 7 may have their best overall game this weekend against a young weak oline and a QB who's been putting up numbers against 3rd and 4th tier teams. What happened again when they played KState, oh yeah they lost 52-13.

"We expect Everett to be our starter in week 5, in week 6, week 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. Yes... Everett will start."

I liked his quote about Brindza. Didn't realize we had that many punters on campus.

Could be positive or negative I suppose.

Positive- Brindza can really punt
Negative- Those we were looking at were garbage.

I missed the above-referenced quote. How many punters do we have? I thought it was just Brindza and Turk.

For this year yes. I believe he said, "We think he can do all the jobs, we brought in a number of punters in the summer, recruited off a high profile list, and we feel we have the best guy right here."

We were looking at 7 punters, earlier in the year, the staff said they were taking a punter in this class, but it turns out that they thought Brindza was the best option.

"Over the bye week, junior Tommy Rees took a large portion of first team reps at practice"

was this because of Golson's shoulder? idk i find this odd if our starter was having trouble wouldn't you want him getting the most reps???

wonder if this is where the rumor came from??

Kelly said himself that Golson has a tough class schedule as far as timing goes. I think Kelly even mentioned they have a hard time getting him lunch. They are coming up on midterms as well.

The bye week offers a chance to get work in you wouldn't normally get during a game week so who cares if Tommy took ALL the snaps over the bye week. Get Tommy his work during the shortened bye week and ramp Golson's reps up game week. Makes sense to me.

Mid to low 30s at game-time, windy, possible rain.

Makes me miss my old college football Saturdays in the Midwest. College football season is always so bittersweet for me. :boohoo:

suddenly, i understand this rivalry: I was on the blue line from o'hare today and in the car were about 5 of the most obnoxious, lude, and classless people i've ever been near. At first i thought it was just cause they came in from NYC, but it turns out they were miami fans/alumni. They proceeded to run their mouths for about 25 minutes. I was technically on the clock so i didn't start ****, but jesus, i cant wait to hand these *******s there...well, *******s on the football field. GO IRISH. **** "DA EWE"

I have two seasons where I live. Hot and muggy, and not so hot and muggy. I do miss the fall weather.
