Hey Bog, I am the 50 year old fat *** but I have played a down or two. Just not D-1 college. For the record, the uni is ok by me. I still prefer the gold helmet and traditional colors. But hey, it seems to be popular with the kids now.

I'm only 27 years old, I played a lot of downs (D3 ball though) and I approve these unis.

The lack of symmetry in the helmet really bothers me. It is only for 1 game and if the players like it then oh we'll I guess.

SIDE NOTE- I will try and video my dad's reaction to these Unis when I show him. He is going to literally Sh!t his pants in a furious rage. That will be a classic!

First post here guys so don't beat me up too bad. I feel like it's all about winning and whatever will help the Irish reach the top....I am for it! It is obvious that the players are excited about it and if that spreads the least bit of enthusiasm that translates to performance, then it doesn't really matter if I like the uniforms.

And......while I'm on my soapbox, I say bring on the field turf, bring on the Jumbotron, bring on the music! It's time to make Notre Dame stadium a tough place to play for the opposition. I've heard some say that winning will cure that but guess what, they're NOT winning! When we do gain a sizable lead the crowd responds by.......doing the wave!?!?

It's time to stand up and make a little noise. If you don't like it, stay at home and watch the high definition broadcast of it.

I like em'. Like many have said...it's one game and this is what makes noise with kids. So whats the big deal? My favorite part is the shiny gold numbers on the jersey, I think those look slick.

I totally agree! I wish they made a decision on the helmet....is it gold? Is it navy with the leprechaun? It's almost like they wanted the leprechaun, but couldn't break from the gold color.

Have to admit, I'm not a fan of the tricked-out gold on the helmets, either.....

The Jersey and under shirt are awesome but the helmet is atrocious. Mich. has their traditional helmet look for the Alabama gm which adidas did special unis for as well. Just don't see how you keep one tradition and crap on another. At least put a blue shamrock outlined in white on both side or really anything different than what they actually decided on. It's like they let the drunkest guy that showed up for work that day pick the final helmet style.

Now would be a good time to announce the field turf... none of the traditionalists will care much about the turf after seeing those helmets!

I had read somewhere that the Shamrock Series gear will be onsale 10/17 at the college bookstore site, Dick's Sporting Goods, FootballFanatics.com, and a few other places.
Someone had said Kohl's will have gear as well, but "won't be of the same quality."

I kinda like them for one game but I can see why others might not. For the life of me I can't figure out how some of you are getting so worked up it though. Its the same players on the same team representing the same university. They're just wearing different outfits for the day. Its like some people are cheering for the clothes. I know I would be joining the torch and pitchfork mob and head over to the adidas HQ if they dared to do anything with the color scheme of the winged helmets.

I was in shock thinking these were a joke when I first saw them.

There is too much being made of the fashion in college football. What happened to the days where the last thing on anyone's mind in the offseason was the attire? I guess it's just the day and age.

I think adidas did a good job with Michigan's unis they are going to wear in Dallas, but this really scares me that they ****ed with ND's solid gold helmet. It might mean they are going to do something to Michigan's.

I agree in the symmetry thing. Now looking at em in the other pictures, other than the Adidas promo pics, they are growing on me a lil. The symmetry of the two tone helmet is the only I can't get used to. BUT the kids seem to like em so we should all listen, to those of us who had mothers, what she probably told us, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
