Idk about you guys but Ferguson's adjustment and catch on that deep route was very impressive especially for a freshman!
Any news on how Golson and Hendrix are looking? Seems like all the news is about the receivers and the secondary
4. There's no sophomore jinx.
At least not where some of ND's impact athletes are concerned.
Converted outside linebacker Troy Niklas continues to soar at in his new role at tight end, running over would-be tacklers Wednesday like they were dandelions.
Councell was disruptive at the outside linebacker, showing the ability to cover both wide receivers and tight ends, while also being a physical presence in the running game.
Defensive end Stephon Tuitt's lateral quickness is a scary complement to his improved pass-rushing skills, and outside (Cat) linebacker Ishaq Williams is closing the gap quickly on projected starter Prince Shembo.
"We've got a lot of work ahead of us," Kelly concluded. "That's a good thing -- a lot of practice opportunities for us to continue to develop our players."
Lol....

There were breakdowns from Scout, ISD and 24/7 all specifically breaking down the QBs. All pretty much agreed Golson looked best until the 11 on 11, when it was more even (Hendrix may have even looked a bit better). They also all state that Golson looks much more poised and relaxed in the pocket, but must continue improving his pre-snap reads and relaying assignments. He throws really well on the run (probably better than in the pocket right now), and always keeps his eyes downfield. Hendrix has to keep improving accuracy.
Personally, I would be comfortable with either one vs. Navy, and we probably will see both. I just want one of them to really take the reins at some point.
That quote is awesome. I was just getting ready to re-post it in his thread.
Thanks for the info! I think we all know Golson is ready physically, he just needs to keep working on the mental part of the game(pre-snap reads, adjustments at the line) and he will get better at that with more 11 on 11 in practice
Anyone notice in the latest video that during the rodeo drill Hendrix took a handoff as a RB?
I know this is kinda obvious... but Gosh Dang I think Wood is just gonna destroy defences this year. He was jukin the crap outta people in open space. He looks great in the video from practice on the 8th.
I guess I just don't see it. I know the video that we see online is very short, but I cannot see how either of the other two quarterbacks can be successful unless they get all the other aspects of the game down. You can have all of the talent in the world, but unless you understand what the defense is throwing at you and put your team in the right position, you cannot be successful. I have serious doubts about this position going forward, and don't think either of these guys is the answer.
It was lost in the shuffle for various reasons (and because of a lack of big numbers against a very good D) but I thought he was tremendous in the bowl game against FSU. He was moving straight upfield and hitting the line like never before. That performance has gotten me excited about his 2012 season. I think he might have turned a corner and is ready to be one of the best RBs in college football.

Tommy Rees does not have the physical tools to lead this team to a BCS bowl.
If Kelly wants us to make a BCS bowl anytime soon, it's best that he get one of the younger, more talented quarterbacks on the field and let them take their lumps. Every game he doesn't is stunting the development of this team, IMO.

I firmly believe that this Keith guy reads this board.

From the article.
Kelly only had the preliminary report on Spond, making it a guessing game for fans to wonder if the junior linebacker is out for days or weeks. Some have referenced a serious concussion Spond suffered during his senior season of high school, but while relevant, it’s not really an indicator of how long or serious this injury could be.
