This all makes sense like Jonesman, and Irish8248 said, he needs the three or four practices required by the NCAA to fully suit up and make contact. He missed Saturday, and each day he was a day behind, so he needed to sit out from the most contact oriented sessions. Some reported that he was there, just not in the competitive mix. Therefore the only photo's or videos showed him from the sidelines.

Thanks, TP, now who is this secret committ # 20, and what is the deal with him? Sounds like the next great rumor to chase after.

Not talking abt a commit. Didnt even cross my mind that we were at 19 commits, so it wasnt supp to be any kind of mystery so i apologize. Just happy to have the best rb on the squad back at it

I'd like to second that part about Cierre being the best. I am a HUGE Jonas Gray fan, so I was happy to see him finally play near his potential last year. That said, its almost like he cast a shaddow over CW. Gray was 220 and ran a 4.4. That does not make CW's 210 small or his 4.5 slow.

Wood ran smart, fast, and strong last year. I just don't understand why more people are not more excited about him going into this year. I think he is going to be the center of the offense this year. Like many others, I expect big things.

Definately. People talk about GAIII but i dont even see him getting enough touches to be a star, CW and Theo will be running this show.

I of course was teasing at the new poster's comment. I couldn't resist myself. What made it funny to me, and irresistible is that is exactly how 90% of the rumors start on IE! Misscommunication.

Agreed.

It will be interesting to see how they use GAIII. I agree it will be more very deliberate, basically shock and awe. I would say jet sweeps, but he seems to have mediocre hands. I'd line him up on the outisde now and again and have him run GO routes, just to keep the other team honest.

Ranking the nation's top 20 running backs

19. Cierre Wood, Notre Dame
Particulars: 6-0/215, Jr.; Oxnard (Calif.) Santa Clara
Buzz: Wood finished 2010 strong, and that carried over to last season. He rushed for 1,102 yards and nine
Cierre Wood was a 1,000-yard rusher last season and should play a bigger role this season. (Getty Images)
TDs in 2011. He had three 100-yard games, with his biggest a 191-yard effort against Purdue. He also had three other games with at least 94 yards. He's a capable receiver, too, and with the Irish looking at shaky quarterback play, Wood should be even busier this season.

Interesting that we play against four runningbacks rated higher than Cierre, this year.

Interesting, but we did shut down Le'Veon Bell last year. Could do the same this year.

AND we had to focus on a good passing game too, no that cunningham/cousins are gone i see no reason we cant dominate their offense

Belief locally is that the new startin QB is better than Cousins was

Most were saying that Cousins was the best quarterback in MSU history. So that's pretty good luck to have someone to surpass that. I doubt Maxwell's better, but guess we'll see come this season.

Maybe he has better physical tools than Cousins, but Cousins had the intangibles and was a very smart player. There's no way a 1st year starter will be better.

Well, odds are the kid will have the game of his life against ND.

I think the overall concensus is that he has more mobility and can make accurate throws while moving well. Being its his first year, and he definitely wont have the connection with his recievers Cousins did, I doubt he can perform to the expectations some are giving him. But they are always great in the run game, and I think we will handle that good.

Pardon me, I was looking for the Cierre thread. I didn't mean to start anything to mention we played against 4 runningbacks listed higher than Cierre this season. I was trying to point out how little they know . . .
