I can't watch the video right now but I assumed this ship sailed down south to Florida awhile ago. Nice hearing all the optimism.

If he chooses ND I will be very happy. If he doesn't choose ND I won't be surprised because I wasn't expecting it.

Ahar, Cap'n, Bery, Shiver me timbers; don't assume anything. This is the kid that has had a lot going through his mind. Acceptance is everything. After Anzalone's story, don't assume anything at all about Gator appeal.

Interested to see what happens here. Not really concerned if we miss, I'd basically already written him off to UF. I think it will be a war to keep him if we go anything short of 10-2 this season. There are plenty of comparable or better prospects left on the board for CAT if he doesn't commit (Drennon, Muhammed, etc.).

The two positions where I am confident we will "get ours" even if I don't know who the guy is right now are CAT and WR.

one thing EO does have from watching his film is a really high motor...chases things down acrossed the field and plays to the whistle...atleast on his highlight tape...personally i'm more impressed with his highlights than i was with ishaq's

Curious to hear Allgator's take on this/what the Florida boards are saying after the weekend. Anyone have any insight?

I am going back to just lurking this board. Dont think fans care too much about him for some reason. I like him a lot. If nothing has changed since he visited then he is a Gator. I expect him to be a Gator.

I agree 100% with this. I haven't ever really gotten the fascination here. Seems like a decent player, but I just can't get too worked up about his recruitment. If he ends up Irish, awesome; I'll be the first to welcome him. I won't lose any sleep if he ends up a Gator though (which I expect based on the feel from what I've read).

I think the facination basically is because he is a LB with a Bama offer.

I'm sure his name also has something to do with it, as much as people may not want to admit it. With limited spots left and my impression that he isn't the walking definition of a "Notre Dame type" I will not lose any sleep if he goes elsewhere.

A lot of these recruits that aren't a so called "Notre Dame type", end up being the exact players who play in BCS games and play on Sundays. Malik Zaire doesn't exactly have a common "Notre Dame type" name, nor did Raghib Ismail. I'm also pretty certain that if another talent like Raghib Ismail tried to come to Notre Dame to play football, with Rocket's same academic intelligence, he would be denied admittance into ND. This is one of the main reason's Notre Dame football has been drowning in mediocrity for almost 20 years. I like to call it that "Old Guard" mindset. The Notre Dame coaches would accept Ebenezer's commitment in a heartbeat. I give all the credit in the world to BK for trying to escape the stranglehold that is the "Old Guard".

I'm not sure where we got our signals crossed here, but I don't care what his name is. That isn't what I meant by a "Notre Dame type" - I brought up his name as a possible explanation for why he has gotten so much attention from fans, but those are completely separate points.

Malik Zaire, in reading about him and listening to him speak, is exactly a "Notre Dame type," as are all of the kids in our 2013 class so far from what I can tell. Maybe Ebenezer is, too, and I've totally misread him. But to me he has appeared to be a kid that wants the "coolest" place to play as a teenager and not as focused on some of the things that tend to lead kids to ND to play football.

I'm the last person to ever be considered "old guard" and I am fully supportive of taking football players that may not have otherwise been admitted on grades and test scores alone, because I think football players bring something to the university outside of the traditional academic setting and that should be welcomed. But those football players also have to be the right fit for ND from a cultural perspective. I'm not convinced Ebenezer is a perfect fit culturally, nor am I convinced he is good enough to overlook that fact.

No worries Rhode Irish. My frustrations are 100 percent directed towards Notre Dame's Administration. On a positive note, this 2013 class is shaping up almost magically.

Not sure what you mean. Rocket and Raghib are two easy fits. Its also not about intelligence or names, its about what a kid wants out of college.

For me, ND has certain selling points: football tradition, academics, family atmosphere, faith, and a "total package." When a kid talks about these kind of things, ND is generally going to be in it until the end. When a kid talks about location, social life, NFL, etc., the things that make ND unique aren't selling points anymore, and the academics can actually becomes something of a roadblock. Similarly, if the only thing that separates Auburn and ND in your head is the climate, I'm going to guess you pick Auburn.

EO loved his visit, but isn't spouting out the kind of things that you hear from recruits that ultimately chose us-- even studs like Tuitt, Nix, the Attkinsons, Day, etc. He may love all that stuff, I just hear other things which would make his commitment surprising.

We are starting to get ahead of ourselves. We need all the Alabama-offered LBs we can get. Don't need another repeat of last year at CB.

We will see if ND picks him or not on the 24th; and then if it is glue.

Even if he does commit, the most likely to de-commit from whichever school he chooses.

My thoughts exactly. EO's recruitment will probably go well into the 11th hour.

Agreed. If Ogundeko picks ND, he will immediately become our top flight risk.

Since I prefer Muhammad or Drennon as ROLB prospects, I'm hoping he just delays his announcement.

If some people on here feel wherever he commits he is likely to decommit then his friends verbal to SU could very well change things.

Maybe the friend committed to SU because he's following Ebenezer, instead of Ebenezer following his friend.

I'm being pretty cynical today, so bear with me bery haha

Why do you and everyone else on this board like Drennon over Ebenezer?

I just don't see it looking at their films and rankings I'd take Ebenezer.

Our current commits are suddenly giving Ogundeko some pub on Twitter. Maybe they know something we don't?
