I agree with you NDPhilly. He has been a huge ND lean for a while and really thing he will be starting alongside Jaylon by his 3rd year (assuming he redshirts). The kid's video is really good and IMO, he isn't getting the widespread love by teams and analysts because of the location of his hometown. I can't wait to see him develop no matter where he goes.

Agreed. I love his film. He could be truly fantastic at DOG or even WILL. Seems incredibly fluid and quick for his size. In my book he's a must get.

He's getting love from teams. He has the king of all offers, plus Alabama.

I would love to add Mattingly. High profile offers and everything I hear is the kid is great in pass coverage.

Agree with the must get. And to Domina's post, I didn't realize he had Bama. Great offer, especially for a LB. But, it's us, OU, Bama, Mizzou and Nebraska as the only non-regional schools. There's no USC, Stanford, or Cal offer in that mix. If he were in a bigger market, he would have all of the big names.

At 6'4" 220lb it isn't out of the question that he could bulk up into a MLB. Dan Fox is 6'3" so he could grow into a WILL

Irish Illustrated ‏@NDatRivals
Top Irish target Danny Mattingly aggravated a left knee sprain, plans to sit out Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge. #RivalsChallenge

Guh. I really wanted to see how he did vs high level competition. Is he going to any All-star games? Too lazy to flip over to the all-star game thread.

Ugh.... aggravated a knee sprain? Lingering injuries are the worst. And it's a huge bummer he'll have to sit out the 5:s: challenge.

As an athlete I'd rather break a jaw like Onwualu then do damage to my knee.

no doubt. knees can be tricky no matter how good the surgeon is and or how hard one rehabs it, sometimes they just not the same.

BTW what everyone forgets or doesn't realize is that knee spains ARE tears of the ligaments.

Technically, sure. But, there is never a need for surgery for a simple ligamentous sprain. It would have to be a full or partial thickness tear to warrant that discussion. This appears to just be a weak ligament that was tweaked again. No need to insite panic in the masses there Ricochet.

Well, a grade 1 sprain can just be inflammation or very, very mild "tearing".... so hopefully that's the extent of the injury. I completely agree with what you're saying though.

Tears don't always mean rips. It could just be a loosening of the connective tissue.

I know that isn't the right way to explain it, but i'm a student not a doctor, damn it.

I just feel that is the general consensus when someone hears tear, they think rip.

Any talk about his decision timeline? Is it realistic to think that he could pop on his visit?

Thanks in advance
