Psychologically, it may leave a little to be desired by the given recruit based specifically on his history and comments made by his father.
That would be the reason, if you believe Penn State is out.
There is a reason ND may be the right choice, as the recruit sees it. It is the only school of the leaders that both will let Alex settle to his "natural" position and give him a voice in what position he plays.
Finally, I am tired of all the conversation that centers on remembering what "position" a player is being recruited for. A) Forget about Dogs, cats, and Mikes. Forget about ILB's versus OLB's. Forget about the subtle differences between the play of 4-3 versus 3-4 Defenses. One gap, two gap and all of the techniques can be taught. Basic body position and all of that can be taught. Size and speed cannot. Skil, big skill, and brolic, what more do you need?
