UGA a legitimate Nat'l Title contender
Interesting comment as I thought Steele's choice to win the SEC East was UF. Perhaps I misread the UF writeup. As loudly as the SEC beats their own drum, I don't see how UGA could be a Nat'l Contender without winning the SEC East which would preclude them from the SEC Title Game which was designed specifically to boost an SEC team into the Nat'l Title Game. Especially since they don't face the LSU, ALA, or ARK during the season.
UGA would be an example of the SEC's desire for multiple SEC teams in a playoff. Say UGA runs the table EXCEPT for UF which wins the SEC East. UF then beat a 12-0 LSU or ALA in the SEC TG. You'd have a 11-1 UGA, 11-1 LSU and/or ALA, and a 13-0 or 12-1 UF. Slive and Company gonna really be P.Od if UF runs the table EXCEPT for FSU and then wins the SEC TG (but I digress).
They return 16 Starters (7/9).
QB - "Murray should be one of the top QB's in the entire country.
RB - "deeper and more experienced"
WR/TE - "This group is more exp'd. "(than LY's)
OLine - "I felt the L2Y's units underachieved and TY's could match their production"
DLine - "proj st'rs are all PS#24 or better and
this is one of the best D-lines in the country"
LBs - "one of, if not the best, LB corps in the nation."
DBs - "this unit is even stronger"
STs - "UGA plummeted to #81 and TY lose their K/P combo plus their top RM and could drop even further"
Another SEC schedule set up for a Title Run with 8 home games, a neutral site game and only 5 teams ranked in Steele's TOP #40. Only 2 of those ranked teams are in back to back games, Tennesse in Athens and SCA in Columbia.
