Looks like Moreno who was brought up from Scranton earlier today will pick up his first major league win.

Moreno gets the win, Warren the save.

The AL East-leading Yankees won for the eighth time in nine games, and are majors-best 16-5 in July matching their most wins in a month since August 2013.

New York scored its most runs since a 22-9 win against Oakland on Aug. 25, 2011, and surpassed Baltimore's 19-3 win over Philadelphia on June 16 for the most runs by a big league team in a game this season.

New York sent 15 batters to the plate in the second, its highest-scoring inning since a 12-run first in a 17-3 win against Baltimore on July 30, 2011. The franchise record is 14 runs in the fifth inning of a 17-0 win against Washington on July 6, 1920.

Gotta give some credit to Sir Didi. Kid has really turned it around. I'm excited to see him play for us for hopefully a long time.

If we can pick up Hamels or Ross or maybe Price I think this team has the pieces to win it all. I think we can get by with Drew/Ryan/Reifsnyder at second and Beltran/Young platoon in right. I just don't think Tanaka/Pineda/Eovaldi/Nova will be enough in postseason.

Yankees have 11-run inning, end with 21 runs: By the numbers - CBSSports.com
By Matt Snyder 7/29/15

That's 21 unanswered runs after a five-run deficit. Not surprisingly, that's the first time in MLB history this has happened (via Elias).

A few more numbers:

•Since 1914 -- the era of reliable box scores -- this was just the 123rd time a team scored at least 21 runs. (As always, thank you baseball-reference.com play index).

•The Yankees have been the team to do it two of the last three times a team scored more than 20 runs. The Mariners (wait, what?!?!) had 21 runs on May 30, 2012, and then it was the Yankees with 22 runs on Aug. 25, 2011.

•The Yankees' franchise record for runs scored in a game is 25, which happened in 1936.

•This was the most runs scored in a game this season, surpassing the Orioles' 19-run effort on June 16.

•This was the most runs the Rangers have allowed since the aforementioned Mariners inexplicably scoring 21 runs game.

•The 11-run second marked the most runs the Yankees scored in an inning since July 30, 2011, when they scored 12. The franchise record for runs in an inning is 14, which happened all the way back in 1920.

•This was the first game since 1972 when neither starting pitcher recorded an out past the first inning (@STATS_MLB).

•Even more, from the brilliant Katie Sharp:
This is only time in last 100 yrs that 2 pitchers have allowed 7+ runs in 1 IP or fewer in a game against the Yankees.

That's a rough one, Martin Perez and Wandy Rodriguez.

The Rangers, by the way, were forced to throw 244 pitches in all.

Mariners trade utility player Dustin Ackley to Yankees for prospects - CBSSports.com

Seattle has traded utility man Dustin Ackley to the Yankees for outfielder Ramon Flores and right-hander Jose Ramirez, CBS Sports MLB Insider Jon Heyman has confirmed.

YANKEES GET: MARINERS GET:
OF Dustin Ackley OF Ramon Flores. P Jose Ramirez
Ackley, 27, was the second overall pick in the 2009 draft out of UNC. He made his MLB debut in 2011, hit a promising .273/.348/.417 (120 OPS+) in 90 games, but has hit just .236/.297/.356 (87 OPS+) in 494 games since. Baseball America ranked Ackley as the 12th best prospect in baseball before the 2012 season.

Trade deadline passed. Yanks have to do it with what they have.

Tex hit his 10 Grand Slam in the top of the second to stake Eovaldi to a 6-0 lead over the Chisox.

ARod 2-2.

Tex took over the MLB record from Most Times Hitting HRs From Both Sides Of The Plate In The Same Game with 14. He had been tied with Nick Swisher at 13 times. Carlos Beltran is next with 12.

My favorite team now that I dont play them anymore. Couldn't drive a nail ----well you know what I mean when I was a young kid pitching in the old stadium. I still have flashbacks seeing a ball going into the 3rd deck from Nettles. Tex and A-Rod are having fun-you can tell. Really like their bullpen. The organization has been managed well and the last 2 guys who managed are top of the class guys. Starting pitching will hurt when playoffs start. You need strikeout guys in the playoffs.

MLB Trade Deadline: Yankees stand pat, show faith in farm system - CBSSports.com
By Mike Axisa

To the surprise of many, the Yankees did not make a trade prior to Friday afternoon's trade deadline. Well, that's not true, they did acquire Dustin Ackley from the Mariners on Thursday, but you know what I mean. They didn't make a big trade.

The Yankees came in Friday with a six-game lead in the AL East, and FanGraphs has their postseason odds at 91.3 percent, third-best in the AL. They're in a good spot, but, at the same time, their rotation has a 4.36 ERA, ranking 22nd out of the 30 clubs. The need for another arm or two was obvious.

...

George must be spinnin'.

Severino to make MLB debut next week per Cashman.

Ellsberg took the 2nd pitch of the game long. Then NY batted around in the top of the 4th.

Once again the bottom third of the order brought their bat, collective 4-6.

Tex makes it 7-0 with #29. That's 7 HRs more than all last season in about 100 fewer at bats. His BA is up 50 points and his slugging up about 190.

Headley, Didi, and Drew in 7 ABs have 5 hits, 5 runs scored, and 4 RBIs. Not too shabby for the 7th, 8th, and 9th hitters.

Final NY 12 CWS 3

Nova 4-3 lowers ERA to 3.10

Drew, 3-5, stuck out in his last at bat. A hit there would have put his BA at .200 fo the first time since somewhere in the 2014 season.
