Can we just have: Ben Bredeson, Josh King, Liam Eichenberg, Auston Robertson, Austin Mack, Damar Hamlin, Julian Okwara, Cary Angeline, Roderick Campbell and Kenney Lyke
None of those are absolute reaches but I doubt some of my most coveted prospects in that list end up in the golden helmet.

That would be swweeeeet!!!

Ben Bredeson the OL from Wisconsin I think he will pop. HH is selling the big three Of Liam, Kramer, and Bredeson. I would love for us to land parker boudreaux though we are in his top group and he plans on visiting. That would be a nasty OL all with these 4. I think this year we should go all in on Dwayne Haskins at QB if he doesn't land year then pass on a QB. I think we have enough depth and Van Gorder doesn't look that bad.

The problem is that some people have stated that a transfer between Wimbush and Kizer isn't out of question. So if the staff passed on the position in 2016, that'd create a 2 year gap.

Doubt we will pass on QB this year. Haskins or Henry would be a great add. I think Wimbush is the future of QB for ND. I'm guessing that he surpasses Kizer on the depth chart as early as next year and if there is a transfer it is likely to be Kizer.

Dude. That is a perfect case of Spring Game Insanity. Seriously, MVG got to go in and fling the ball against mostly walk-ons and the first three (mostly EG and MZ) had their plays picked mostly to show whether they had improved on their weaknesses. In addition, to forcing DK to play to show improvement on his weaknesses, his long-time girlfriend underwent surgery Thursday, and DK spent the day on vigil with her family during the 11 1/2 hour procedure! How much sleep do you think he got traveling back and forth with a full schedule, for that? And how in the game do you think his head was? I heard a rumor that he was told he didn't even have to play, but I don't know if that is true or not.

i could see Kizer trying out a position switch if he gets passed out by wimbush, kid has plenty of athleticism

Golson will be gone after this year leaving Zaire with the reigns for two years.

Wimbush will redshirt this year and he'll get his two years of stardom after that.

You will see the best QB quality in these terms rather then jumping the gun and having freshman/sophomore at the helm...again.

...as much as I would love to see my local C Cat QB Kizer play - I know it's not best for ND right now with what they have.

Much more likely of an outcome, if it happens.

Most likely maybe; but even if Golson gets one, Malik gets two, there is room for Kizer before Winbush.

It might be hard to land a top-tier QB behind Wimbush, but it seems risky to pass on the position entirely this year. That'd be putting a lot of eggs in the Wimbush basket, and if he gets hurt or doesn't pan out, come 2018 we'd be looking at Kizer and a redshirt freshman.
It's kind of ridiculous to have to look that far ahead, but you do, and one-QB-a-year is the only way to build a reliable pipeline.

Actually, if we get Hunter, and a couple of perferred walkons, with Kizer, and Winbush, that may be perfect. Don't you think so?

It's not very popular but I agree. A lot of this depends on Johnson but if we get the sense that he's in the fold and we should know by the end of this summer. Then I think that this would be a good year to go for either a home run (Haskins) or bust. Use that schollie on another position group that may need it like DB.

I wouldn't mind taking a 3* DT QB/ATH. Someone who could play QB (if we have some transfers) but with the athleticism to play WR/DB as well.

Like Mique Juarez!

Oh wait, he's not a 3* DT-QB any longer.... He's a borderline 5* OLB. Not a bad improvement for 90 days.

Yea, the early thought was that's the direction they'd go if they didn't get a top player.

With visit news picking up and II now just under a month away, anyone have educated guesses as to who is next to pull the trigger? I'd love to get a couple more on board ahead of the event and have the commits on campus for the II.

Hopefully Kenney Lyke, after that a couple will pop in June...no clue who at this point.

I doubt we land Lyke. I think ND nabs Bredeson or Angeline. Something drastic will have to happen for Angeline to go elsewhere and Bredeson is in love with ND. One thing is for certain - Kelly needs to be more hands on in recruiting. ND is dropping the ball in the Midwest.

Been too long since I've seen this thread bumped. I'm predicting three commits in the week following II. Most likely candidates are Perry and Okeke. Also wouldn't be surprised if Chase Pine jumped on an offer. Wiltfong CB'd Stepherson but I'm not sure we'd take him yet. Also Studstill and Ulloa will feel the pressure if either Perry or Okeke jumps. Interested to hear others' thoughts and looking forward to this weekend so I never have to see that god awful recruiting constipation thread again!

I think it we need a stud to jump on board but I don't think that happens.

Hope you are correct. Recruiting verbals have reached the "stagnant pond water" stage.

Some of that is by choice. We could certainly have more kids in this class if we really wanted to.

Three is pretty optimistic.
