It says a lot that not a single player followed BK to LSU.

Also, a bit surprising, that not a single graduation transfer has joined Clark Lea at Vandy the past two cycles. I would have thought maybe one or two guys by now would have.

Does seem a bit surprising, but then you realize that it's vanderbilt, and I can't really say I'm surprised that nobody has transferred INTO vandy to play football.

Vandy does not get the juices following, but playing the in SEC could/should be enticing for some. For those who couldn't crack a spot into the regular rotation here at ND, they could be a valuable piece or contribute more at Vandy. For these reasons alone, I am intrigued to see where some of other former defensive players like Offord, Moala, Simon, Ajavon and potentially Bracy end up.

Lea was Offord's secondary recruiter, and was the position coach for Simon and Moala.

Not that surprising. We rarely lose guys to transfer as undergrads because that involves walking away from an ND degree. Most stick around long enough to graduate and then grad transfer.

So it'd have to be: (1) a grad transfer; (2) who would get more playing time at LSU/ Vandy; (3) that Kelly/ Lea actually want. That's not a very large pool of guys.

Anyone think ND makes a run at Dart? The 247 guys have been conspicuously quiet about it, despite being directly asked whether it is a possibility. The staff was reportedly pissed when the Slovis news broke, so I wonder if there is a gag order out there.

For what it's worth Wiltfong said something like ND should be all over him yesterday.

That would mean they have zero faith in TB, yeah?

No way you could bring in a highend recruit like Dart to "compete for the spot".

I have such high hopes and dreams for TB. If he can put it together, he could be the game breaking guy.

And man... selfishly... I dont want to root for a guy named "Jaxson Dart". That name bums me out.

Unless he's in full rebuild mode where playing freshman and sophomores is his priority, I think Lea would want a lot of our graduate transfers.

Maybe? It's gotta be someone who will get a lot more playing time at Vandy than he's getting now, and thinks that the increased exposure there will offset the downside of playing on a "smaller stage". Lea's only been there one season, so we don't have a very large sample size yet, and as I described above, the pool of ND players that such a move would make sense for is smaller than you'd think.

In addition to adding a year of eligibility because of covid, the ncaa will start adding years for covid vaccine. Then you get another year for the booster too. May as well throw in a year or two more of eligibility for mental health and other hot button issues.

With 9 years of eligibility, the sec's graduation rates will still not improve though.

I'm only half joking.
