Soooo

Lenzy, Mayer, Alt, Kristofic, Lugg, Jayson A, Bertrand, Lewis, Hart, Griffith is an easy 10. That’s a lot of question marks like Foskey, Patterson to get to 18 haha. I don’t even know if it’s possible if you consider only 22 starters, probably including Bauer and Brown and guys like that.

The only way you get to 18 is if you base it on Fiesta Bowl starters. Hinish, Madden, MTA and Austin are definitely gone as are (of course) Williams and Hamilton. But that might indicate a return for Patterson and Foskey. But Drew White started in the Bowl over Bauer so the #'s still are off unless he's coming back which I don't think is happening.

I said about a year ago that Foskey would get drafted before Hamilton. Will be in a different years draft now, but never felt better about that take.

I highly doubt it, but would absolutely welcome it! Foskey would have to play out of his mind and have a handful of other factors work out in his favor for that to happen…

Very happy about foskey, but with all these other returnees anybody else confused about the roster count? Not sure of the number but with the addition of Joseph and so far lack of players enter the portal what’s the situation we are looking at.

Don't have to be under 85 until summer camp. There will undoubtedly be roster attrition after spring ball.

I find it hard to believe that ND would've offered Takacs the ability to return if they thought that getting to 85 was an even remote concern.

I'm 99.9% sure Hamilton will go first round. But I sure wish NCAAF could go by the baseball rules of the draft. :soapbox:

Yep. Kelly finally got us out of the mindset of having to be at or below 85 after signing day. Don’t need to be there until August.

Meaning if you don’t like where you were drafted or by who you could come back?

So what was more important?

getting Austin to come back or

gettjng Brandon Joseph in the portal?

I think I know the answer and Austin’s ego isn’t gonna like it!

Yeah I think SDE - NT will be a revolving door of packages that hopefully Mills is a larger part of.

Justin A - Jayson A - Cross
Mills - Jayson A - Cross
Justin A - Mills - Cross
Justin A - Mills - Jayson A

Ouch…all you guys have cut Jacob Lacey from the interior DL rotation. Outside of Jayson A, Lacey may be the most talented of the group. I think Lacey is on the two deep rotation for both DT spots on 2022. And hopefully Lacey comes back in 2023 for his 5th season as if he is healthy should finally get his opportunity as a starter.

Lacey I think will be in the rotation for sure I just don’t see him as like starter type packages like Mills. Lacey, Ehrensberger, NaNa, Rubio, Aiden all certainly in the mix at those three spots

I disagree. When Lacey is healthy he is as talented and disruptive as any dlineman on the team. Personally I would prefer he started at NT next to Jayson A. With Cross and Mills backing those two up in a heavy rotation.

Thanks for bringing up Nana. He has a chance to take a huge jump this off-season. He will be two years removed from the knee injury. He could be a big time factor in 2022 and 2023.

I do like the big German who is still only scratching the surface. He should get a few more rotation snaps in 2022, 2023 could be the year the Big E emerges.

Aidan K and Rubio are still back there. Those dudes are really good too. Elston doing work.

This would be the worst decision for CFB the NCAA could make next to the transfer rule. Every year anyone good would declare just to see if they go high enough and many would just go to get the immediate money. Rosters would be depleted.

And Bo Bauer seeing himself as the crown of the returning jewels tweeted his return tonight. He is good on special teams if he is not getting penalized for being over jacked up.

Joe Wilkins returning makes me less worried about the WR depth now. I would like to see the new staff spread out the snaps more. We will have 6-7 guys who should all be playing that’s plenty of depth.
Wilkins, Davis, Lenzy, Styles, Colzie, Jayden Thomas, and Merriweather. Gotta find enough playing time to make Colzie and Thomas happy. Thomas was playing good in bowl practice.

I’d love to see someone still added if not a starter a underclassmen somehow at X or Z

W or Y or whatever they’re calling it is set, X and Z is Lenzy, Styles and Davis unless someone moves there.

It says a lot that not a single player followed BK to LSU.

Also, a bit surprising, that not a single graduation transfer has joined Clark Lea at Vandy the past two cycles. I would have thought maybe one or two guys by now would have.

We still need a few more guys. As it stands right now, if we get a few injuries we'll be in the same situation we were this year.

Anyone think ND makes a run at Dart? The 247 guys have been conspicuously quiet about it, despite being directly asked whether it is a possibility. The staff was reportedly pissed when the Slovis news broke, so I wonder if there is a gag order out there.

For what it's worth Wiltfong said something like ND should be all over him yesterday.
