Yep. Ohio State is going to murder us. Absolute worst case scenario the last few days.

Don't be too quick on that... They have some serious prospects that may go early outside of the Seniors that are heading to the draft. I would guess around 10 starters leaving for the draft. Don't know who's behind them but, some may not stay. But have a great QB and RB returning.

Maryland just had 3 Senior WR’s transfer Brian Cobbs and Darryl Jones plenty of options out there both had over 300 yards for Maryland this year. Also Carlos Carriers 6’5 had 300 yards. Brenden Rice Freshman for colorado technically a Sophmore had over 300 yards. Shocky Louis Pitt over 300 yards. Terrell Bynum Junior Washington 436 yards. Not sure if any of these guys are fits but there’s plenty of guys out there no reason why we can’t bring in 2 productive WR’s for depth.

They aren't the big bad wolf everyone on here is making them out to be. They're a top 5-10 team, but haven't had a defense for a couple years now. Their offense is phenomenal though.

Didn't Joe Wilkins Jr get injured in like October? If so most likely he's back for summer. I don't think he's a great WR but he certainly can take significant snaps and he's not a liability.

Austin has not been worth the wait or the effort. Since it seems like he’s been here over 5 years now I hope he got his degree. He better test off the charts and will be curious if he gets invited to the combine (hope he doesn’t) but hope he’s happy getting drafted one the 6tb round.

He stayed for 4 years and will get his degree. He would have had plenty of suitors if he ever decided to transfer but he stuck it out. Not sure we beat VT or FSU without him. Why are you rooting against him going forward?

Serious question, why do you come to this board, and why do you follow ND football. Its constant negativity, constant whining…maybe we schedule OSU because our coaches, players and admin have a lot more intestinal fortitude than all the bitch ass chicken little arm chair quarterbacks around here.

The program is 54-10 since 2017 and the teams we have lost to have been ranked 15, 7, 20, 2, 3, 19, 4, 1, 7, and 9 at the time of the game. So 54-3 in 5 years outside of the top 7. Two playoff loses to teams that destroyed EVERYBODY on their schedule that year. 5 straight 10 win seasons.

Yea we clearly have no business scheduling top tier teams, we suck. You’re a straight embarrassment to our fanbase. Grow a pair dude, its ok to not be 2020 Alabama but keep persevering towards trying to reach that level. I am sure glad our players and coaches dont share your weak minded quitter mentality just because the program is not perfect right now. There are probably about 10-12 teams in your vaunted SEC that would trade the last 5 years and the immediate future outlook of our program with us in a heartbeat.

I hope Tommy and MF have the balls to run up the score and get some style points where Kelly would take his foot off the gas. Gets to that edge we are looking for. Many of us have high hopes for Buchner as he seems to have the gun and legs to be the elite QB we have missed. An elite QB would have us 13-0 despite an average defense.

Agreed. I dont understand the constant bitching and chicken little attitude of a bunch of fans about a team that is clearly right on the cusp of elite with a coach who has already proven he can bring in the caliber of player that everybody has been agreeing for 5 years is the difference from where we are now and where we want to go. Anybody who doesnt understand that some growing pains and hiccups from a first time head coach are going to happen and just may be a necessary evil for this process to happen, i just dont know what to tell you. Dude just lost to a top 10 team by 2 points in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year and did so without a top 5 player in the country, and our best players on both sides of the ball. It sucks to lose, and sucks even more to lose in heartbreaking fashion, but it was a hell of an effort collectively, and if you dont have faith that our new coach will put in the time and do whatever it takes to figure it out, then why even follow the team.

What is Davis going to do? He wasn't getting drafted if fully healthy. He's 100% back but probably won't play until 2nd half of season.

Same with Wilkins Jr, he's not draftable but he should be back sooner, likely in summer.

I'm choosing to move on from "panic" to cautiously optimistic for the 2022 year provided we get Foskey back and hit the portal. I'd love to have Patterson back but if you offered me just Foskey right now against spinning the wheel of fate, I'd take it.

We need at least 1 WR from the portal and 1 DB. I'd even take a starting corner and allow everyone else to go all in on the safety spots. That's bare minimum - a 2nd WR, 2nd DB, a big time QB would be cherries on top.

We're not that far off and Freeman knows what it takes, hope we score in the portal!

Mike Frank as of a few minutes ago is hearing Foskey is leaning towards staying, but notes that agents can be very persuasive so anything can happen.

Foskey could be the next Thibideaux if he comes back. Another year to mature physically and mentally. I’d like to think this D will be better next year and he can show out even more. Would be a huge plus. Next get Patterson. Kelly was actually good at convincing players in Foskeys position to come back and improve their skill set and draft stock.
