I bet LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn Miss State & Tennessee would all schedule a home and home at the begining of the year with Notre Dame

Tennessee and Vandy have been the only ones willing to talk about games with us lately. I think Georgia may have been in talks with us at one point recently too.

Our talent and depth is getting there. Our problem is it's still really raw and young. We should be starting way more upperclassmen than we did this season.

Everyone is talking about our lack of athleticism in the secondary. I'd say its a bigger problem with our linebacking core right now. This incoming class should start to alleviate that. Smith, Anzalone, Rudolph are all incredibly gifted LBs athletically, speed and physicality.

Not trying to start a huge argument but did Teo look slow on the field last night to ND fans?

I won't presume to tell you what your team is missing, but I will tell you what your team is NOT missing, and that is class and character. I was so impressed with the young men on your team in their post game interviews. Each one of them that I saw were very gracious in their comments about their opponent and each of them showed how much they cared for Notre Dame. I know these young men were hurting, but still had the class and character to be gentlemen.

Notre Dame fans should be very proud of these young men and what the team accomplished this year. ND will be a team to be reckoned with in the near future. Keep supporting them and until they meet Bama on the field again, I will join you in a big GO IRISH.

Thanks for posting that.

All year Manti was tackling running backs running through small creases. So, the RB didn't have much room to maneuver. Last night, their running backs were running through huge gaping holes, and Saban was pulling H backs to influence Manti into thinking the play was going to his left, when in fact it was an inside run to Manti's right. That combination had Manti late to the play, with a RB with a wide gap to maneuver away from Manti. You can see it on the first TD below.

His performance last night probably dropped him down into the late first round. The combine might rescue him, but no one is going to risk a top10 pick from watching that.

Good luck getting a "top" SEC to schedule us, though.

You sure about that?

Bama has been trying to schedule Notre Dame...

Worth noting: The newest of those stories was from three and a half years ago.

But, to 'Bama's credit, they're one of the few SEC schools that's been willing to schedule home and homes with northern schools in recent years. Would love to see them in South Bend.

I think part of the issue is that the SEC seems to want to play quality non-conference opponents early, when we're already pretty booked up with rivals from the Big Ten. When we played Tennessee and LSU back in the '90s/early '00s, it was usually in November. Will be interesting to see if the new ACC schedule changes that on our end. Or maybe someone from the SEC could skip the pre-Thanksgiving creampuff and come on up north for our Senior Day game.

I agree with you. I know we've opened 4 of the past 5 seasons with premiere opponents. Some schools don't like doing that, but it's worked for us. You find out where you are from the start, it's great publicity and exposure, it's almost like a bowl game, and it sure doesn't hurt with recruiting either. We've had regular season series with PSU, USC, Oklahoma, and Nebraska over the years, as well as one with ND in the 80's. I think all the SEC schools you listed would be very interested in scheduling a series with ND, especially to kick off the season.
