Back to the frozen pizzas... what is the most your have her tried to add to a frozen pizza to make it legit excellent? I once had a Red Baron and added blue cheese and pancetta to it.

Hmm. Normally I leave my pizzas undoctored, but I make an excepion for cheese. HEB actually sells a "bacon" pizza with Canadian bacon, real bacon, and pancetta all for around $4.

When I crave a frozen pizza, I normally crave the flavors I'm in the mood for.

Tonight's dinner was roasted pork tenderloin with some roasted butternut squash and broccoli. Nothing too special but still enjoyable.

Breakfast potatoes and eggs over medium. I've been craving this for a while.

One of my absolute favs just now...

Potatoes, onions, sausage and bell peppers... With a bit of eggs... I personally put quite a bit of Tabasco and a bit of ketchup in mine. Love it.

Ketchup is for Burgers and Hotdogs only.
As far as hot sauce, I like mine with more flavor. I go with Red Hot Buffalo. It's the only way I eat eggs.

Made some breakfast burritos with cast iron skillet potatoes (butter, cayenne, green onion, Fresno chiles) with soft scrambled eggs, Tillamook pepper jack, and pork chorizo. Rolled the burritos with flour tortillas and then threw them back on the skillet seam side down to "seal" them. Then crisped the other sides and went to town.

Cholula of course.

Ketchup is the devil. Adults should not eat it unless the fries are too hot in which case it can be used to cool down a few before being cast aside.

ETA: Unless it is bacon ketchup but even then it is only for Fries.

I did just watch 'How it's made' and they had Tabasco on the show. Very interesting the process they go thru. Hand picked, 3 years fermenting in oak barrels, then 3 weeks churning with vinegar. And it's never actually cooked.

Just finished a pot of stoneground grits. I cook my grits in heavy cream, butter and with a cheese of some sort (today is sharp cheddar).

Also got some of the pork meat (from our whole hog buried on Friday) warming. Fried apples and hashbrowns

I HATE breakfast. It's just not my thing. But reading from yesterday inspired me to make it for the family. Fresh grates hash browns (clocked in bacon grease), eggs, bacon, and muffins. Nothing special.

Speaking of breakfast, my wife got a box of pumpkin spice mini wheats a while back and it's just sat there... Just had a bowl this morning.... Damn that shit is good. I'd get it year round if possible.

The damn HEB only had instant and quick grits. What side of the Mason-Dixon am I living on?

I didn't even see this until after I posted. Last night I went with chicken stock & cream. I honestly didn't even need the butter or cheese. This morning I just went with some chicken stock and used a little bit of shredded cheddar. Damn delicious. Dinner might be grits, chicken, and a poached egg.

Do you hate breakfast burritos? I am not a huge fan of breakfast (I usually skip it unless I go out and get biscuits and gravy or cornbeef hash) but I love me a good breakfast burrito from a hole in the wall Mexican joint.

I make my grits with quick...

I imagine it's a bit like using corn meal from scratch for corn bread, where it's just not the same otherwise? Or is it not THAT big of a difference?

I tend to make a southwest green chile and pepper-jack grits that everyone loves but lately I have found that we all really
like Emeril's Charleston Grits recipe...

Spicy Shrimp and Andouille Over Charleston-Style Grits Recipe : Emeril Lagasse : Food Network

I've done that the last few times and it's pretty damn good imo.. of course as stated above I broke his rule and still used quick grits, but in my defense I am trying to think if I've ever even seen non instant grits in the stores out here... I would guess I have but I honestly don't remember.

** edit: vlk caught the instant/quick thing...

I used to love Machaca burritos... but haven't had one in years for some reason... I tend to get Chilaquiles, California burritos or or Chile Relleno burritos for breakfast if going with Mexican these days.

Of course in my world you shelf the Tabasco for these and go with Tapatio or Cholula... Now if it's just eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and cheese (non mex style) I go back to Tabasco.. lol

Fucking chilaquiles, yeah. My buddy needs me to housesit while he's off for his wedding and honeymoon and my primary reason for wanting to do it is because the Mexican breakfast place 3 minutes from his place supposedly has the best chilaquiles in town.

I love Machaca burritos and chorizo burritos. Also it is Cholula for me on any Mexican dish (Tabasco for Chili though).

ETA: I love Chilaquiles but you can't really take them to go. :(

hmm, now looking at pictures of what we always get, it's quick grits...

This is what we tend to get:

Albers+Quick+Grits.JPG

Yeah, that's fine (from what I've been told). Instant grits are pre-cooked and you just add hot water. Quick grits you still need to cook on the stove for a few minutes. You get my seal of approval (until Cack shows us the error of our ways).

I have no idea at all what the difference is... I'm sure Cack would be among our resident experts on grits though... that's his regional stuff
