Im interested to hear what you think of the Stone Mocha. I've been tempted by this before but haven't yet pulled the trigger.

For me, Shorts Nicie Spicie. I've been hammering these lately. Great summer beer.

I should have it this weekend, and I will post my thoughts.


I also bought a single of Lagunitas Aunt Sally earlier this week. Lots of good options to try this weekend.

Have the kiddo by myself this weekend, so naturally an hour into my night one of the dogs broke a nail (blood everywhere, real mess), and the little one decided to have the most epic diaper blowout I've ever witnessed. She finally went down for the night after an impressive tantrum, the dog is patched up, and just poured an IPA. Life is good, until the baby monitor starts blowing up or my other dog decides to eat a bucket of change. Fingers crossed.

Lagunitas Aunt Sally.
N: grapefruit rind, grapefruit, Granny Smith Apple, orange juice and a touch of pine.
P: Tart green apple and grapefruit. Definitely hoppy and bitter as well.
F: Banana, grapefruit and tart green apple.

An interesting beer that is worth trying. Not quite a sour or an IPA, some interesting hybrid.

P: Similar to the nose. Coffee, chocolate covered oranges and caramel.
F:Caramel flavored coffee, grapefruit and pine.

I like it but I think it would be hard to have more than one.

Have you had their Americano Stout? Thought i was way better (albeit quite a bit stronger) than the Mocha Stout.

I liked the Americano Stout but it was really hard to drink more than one bottle (mostly because it really hit the coffee note hard).

The one I had tonight was an IPA (as you pointed out with the edit), and it was really interesting to smell/taste the interplay between hops and coffee but it would be hard to drink regularly.

Almanac Tropical Platypus. A dry hopped sour aged in wine barrels with kiwi, mango, lime and passionfruit. A very nice sour ale. Definitely tart and slightly sour with a little hops and some sweetness.

Sierra Nevada Otra Vez. This is quite possible my favorite SN beer.

Epic Sour IPA. This is almost a home run. Only complaint I have is that it's too thin. Appearance, smell, taste, are great. Still very good. Also not sure about a 4.5% IPA. I'd call it a sour pale.

I was at Live Oak earlier; I had the Doppelbock, and the Hef. I was told that another batch of Foudreweizen might be in the works and other collaborations are being discussed. Also, Primus may hit the shelves this next winter...

For now: Strangeland Porter. Pretty good, dark roast with plenty of flavor and body. One of my favorite local breweries. I should sleep, but when the date you've just met suggests priesthood, it's just gonna be one of those nights.
