Laughed because the idea that you'd pass is hilarious and cried because of what it does to your bank account?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

HA! Perfect.

Kind of, yes to both. Pappy 23 used to be a reasonable thing to buy someone you really loved a lot. Now it's crazy expensive.

I laughed knowing that I used to know it's sweet embrace. I cried knowing I can't afford that luxury anymore. So. Yes.

Last night had a pretty delicious cocktail with some makers mark, a little simple syrup, lemon juice, mint, and muddled blueberries.

I'm a sucker for mint with bourbon and it was didn't disappoint. I may try to recreate it at home since it seemed pretty simple.

Stone Delicious IPA

This was me as well yesterday.... Love this stuff, stone level hops with a bit more citrus than their other selections, right up my alley taste wise.

Founders Imperial Stout
Bells Exhibition Stout (8-22-2014)
Dark Horse 4 Elf

Two fantastic stouts. The Imperial is tough to top and the Exhibition from '14 has aged well so far. I have 3 more and I think I'm gonna hold those for a while longer and see how they develop.

Ska Modus Mandarina
N: Did someone pour some orange soda into my beer? Orange skittles? Ok after a few seconds it calms down, still has big notes of orange peel and the flesh of the orange, but a little pine, grapefruit and caramel show up as well.
P: Sweet upfront, with orange and grapefruit notes, a touch of caramel and pine.
F: Starts with the orange soda note and and then turns into pure orange peel. Bitter, bitter orange lingers for a while on the tongue. Almost like someone scrubbed my tongue with an orange peel for a couple of minutes.

I am not a fan of this beer. The finish in particular is rough. I would say it is a mid 70's beer. 75-77? I am very glad that I bought a single.

Last night I had a bomber of Ninkasi Velocihoptor DIPA.

It was ok, probably a mid 80's score (84-86) but it really wasn't my taste. Lots of herbal and pine bitterness. Has anyone licked tree sap before? A good amount of malt sweetness but the herbal and tree(?) bitterness was a little over the top. Also at over $9 for a bomber it just wasn't worth it.

After doing some yardwork, SanTan MoonJuice IPA. A good to very IPA, that is canned. Really nice hops, almost no malt. A solid 87-89 rating.

I really like pina colandas, a lot,... Rarely ever have them but they are delicious man.

Right now I'm enjoying a jalapeño, lemon martini my brother in law turned me onto... Not a big martini guy but this is drinkable.

Ballast Point Tongue Buckler

N: Orange, grapefruit, caramel malt, some toffee, and pine. Some floralness and berry notes.
P: Orange, grapefruit and toffee. Alcohol is really noticeable.
F: Pine, floral and grapefruit bitterness. Alcohol is very noticeable.

Good but the alcohol is really over the top. Also I would prefer if the malt was a little more forward. 85-87.

Firestone Luponic Distortion Revolution 001

N: Citrus (blood orange, grapefruit, etc), tropical fruits (papaya, pineapple, and mango), melon and pine. Even with a slight cold this is wonderful.
P: Starts with citrus and pine, some melon, and a touch of papaya. Bitterness starts to build and cracker malt makes its presence known. Slight spiciness.
F: Citrus, pine and cracker malt. Bitterness is there but it does not dominate.

I have a slight cold so I might revise the notes once it is gone but overall it is a very good IPA. At 5.9% it is very sessionable but has more flavor than the typical session IPA. Overall I rate it 88-90.

Wanted to see if anyone would be interested in an idea I had.

"IE Beer Traders"

Group of guys who trade 1 six pack per month. We can have a list of members (zero membership fee haha) and I or another member can pair everyone up with someone not from their area to trade a favorite or preferred six pack of the SENDERS liking. The receiver will have their type preferences listed in the OP of the thread I will start (IPA, stouts, etc.). This will be a trust based system and you will have a while month to get the package in the mail. A bad deal and you're gone or we can have a tribal council or something.

Let me know what you guys think.

Courtesy of Jackalope,
Jack's Abby Hoponius Union. I really enjoyed it.
Troegs Nugget Nectar. I like it. Probably doesn't live up to the hype but I am really glad I got to try it.

I felt the same pkt. The Jack's Abby I thought was top notch.

Bells Two Hearted Ale

Thanks for doing a trade Jackalope, this one's for you man!

You're welcome buddy! I'll get into your beers this afternoon. Oh, and I'm definitely down with the beer traders "club" or whatever.
