the Dewars marketing campaign as "the drinking man's scotch" paid off. I tried some last night. It's pretty terrible...on par with JW Red, probably a little smoother. Might be ok in coke.

I think that ad line is right on the money. I don't think I've ever seen a guy drink just one Dewars on the rocks. It's definitely not sip and savor Scotch. It's pour and pound booze for the borderline alcoholics.

Or the poor college students. Still prefer Jack D though.

They actually have a solid marketing ploy in the spring and summer here in IL. They team up with a bunch of really nice golf courses in the Chicagoland area and in Central IL and offer a free round of golf with the purchase of a handle of Dewars. So I would buy a $35 handle of the stuff and play 18 holes at a $100/round golf course. Worked out nice.

LOL, it is at a restaurant, not the office itself. Since my wife will be with me, she may not approve of that either. Just gotta take mental pictures...

If you're still in Ft Wayne, take a short drive east to Ohio to pick some up (assuming you're, talking about Yuengling here).

Are you kidding me?! They are a bunch of wackos over there. I only go when I have too. (work or to see the in-laws)

Bear Republic Red Rocket Ale. Very good, a scottish style ale with tons of hops, so has the slight smoke, lot of caramel, loads of grapfruit and some piney hops. Very interesting.

St. Peter's Cream Stout and their Porter are really good beers. Their Organic Ale's are decent. The Sorgum Beer they sell is nasty though.

Speaking of good beers, Reissdorf Kölsch off a tap is fantastic if you can find it.

Just found a few strays in the back of the fridge, and two are Bell's Two-Hearted, hidden behind my cheapo crap. Happy Friday to me.

That's one of life little miracles. Kinda like pulling out your winter coat for the first time of the season and finding a $20 in the pocket!

I found a few Newcastles in the back of my fridge a few weeks ago. It was a pleasant surprise.

Bell's is good stuff. Try Lager of the Lakes.

Yep, Bell's is a good brewery, their Expedition Stout is very good and if people like the Barleywine style of beer their Third Coast Old Ale is very good as well (to go along with the obvious that Two Hearted Ale is damn good).

Bell's Oberon is a great wheat beer. A GREAT ONE. Bell's is 30 minutes from my house.
